We should all pat ourselves on the back. This forum probably pushed FoMoCo PR to release something official, which is great to see. Congrats everyone, and ty Ford! 👏👏👏
But -- always a but -- I don't count this as Fall '21. Not a single Ford customer will have a Hybrid until winter next year...
That debate has been going on since the Rebels ("Americans") revolted against good ol King George. My ancestors were happy fur trapping & growing tobacco to export so they could drink tea & spices imported from India & China. Boston Tea Party and all that jazz, like switching to coffee to...
Same. Hindsight is 20/20: I should have ordered and gone back to hibernate; then check back in 1yr if my dealer hadn't called yet (in October 2022) :D. Instead, I wanted to stay informed b/c it was a 1st year model and I'd never ordered before. It could just be Internet information overload...
When did Ford give OKTB on Bronco's? And when had your wife expected to get hers?
There's a separate Bronco forum here but I'm curious because you've been through this before with Ford
A new-to-me truck is sitting in the driveway now, and I talked to my dealer's sales manager about cancelling. They're OK with me cancelling my order anytime. So I'm holding onto the Maverick as a backup plan.
By the time my doubly constrained Hybrid + Lux is built, I may need yet another new...
Well, I'm no lawyer but a verbal agreement isn't legally binding for sales. You make verbal agreements with friends, family, neighbors, coworkers -- not salesmen.
Buying Cars 101: An email, handshake, DORA, order sheet, etc. aren't worth the paper (or electronic bits) they're printed on. Only...
I feel ya. My partner pushed for getting a truck now.
We actually did spot a Maverick XL 2.0L sitting at a local dealer lot last week. We would have liked driving it.
Yes, Tribalism has poopoo'ed all over this forum. There's no Safe Places left on the Internet.
I'll stand by my criticism of FoMoCo's lack of communication.
I get the feeling folks w/ Hybrid orders have moved on to jokes and anything that helps pass the time, but I have seriously considered...
Yup. But I'm assuming you've misunderstood the math here.
Of 3 cars in the EPA lab, 2 were selected by the roll of dice, and 1 was picked by a federal employee, for undisclosed reasons -- like the Porsche in that article.
That Car & Driver article is NOT saying that 66% of all new models are...
With all due respect to Tim ...
... I'm not convinced EPA lab is to blame.
Why?
The EPA dyno lab has NEVER directly tested every new vehicle on the road.
This has been reported on multiple times from various sources before the Maverick was even an idea. If you want to hear it from the...
The constraints would double whammy us. I forget how stats math works but let's say it's Hybrid Lux (like my order was):
10 builds slotted.
My order makes it into the 4 Hybrid slots.
But of the 10 slots, only about 2 can be Lux.
Chances of a Lux making it thru 4 Hybrid slots are low.
Or you...
Smart move. Everyone's life situation is different. My partner started a small biz that's picking up more clients so buying a truck -- despite this crazy market -- was the factor.
You're not the 1st to say they're basically getting paid to sell their vehicle.
Here's the #'s that I ran: GM...
Yea, that did cross my mind after Tim @ LM mentioned their markup was $2.5k.
Because my dealer has still not returned my voicemail & email to cancel, that's still an option.
Beat me to it.
Evidently some folks believe ignorance is bliss. I do not believe knowing constraints causes mass panick.
But what do I know! When COVID hit, I didn't make a run on toilet paper!! 😝 Because any informed person would have known better.
