Better English words were available for FoMoCo's memo if it's just a couple week pause like, oh I don't know, "a brief pause in scheduling Hybrids". Or "Hybrids: no scheduling this week". <-- could have been used repeatedly for a couple weeks.
'guess I'm old skool and still think words matter.
weeks, plural. I doubt this is just a 1 week delay.
I work in another industry, am not a scheduler, but do have access to production schedules, engineering specs, etc. (Don't ask me to leak anything.)
Schedulers, project managers, and product managers send out internal-only changes...
Imagine if food commodities ever have this supply problem. We see corn fields everywhere but the US & Canada import tons, like :coffee: & tea. At least we can live without coffee & tea but eating corn chips for every meal won't make the doctor happy. o_O Luckily we grow enough wheat to make...
Just heard this from a friend. He drives a Silverado. I guess "compact" truck is causing the dreaded --
-- "that ain't a real truck" crap.
Massive towing, 4x4 locking diffs, etc. And a gas guzzling engine.
"What if you need to haul a horse?" (because I'm surrounded by horse stables out in...
Tim tried to backpedal on behalf of Ford by saying this bad news came from this week's scheduling memo. "Don't be concerned yet" ... he said, but then he admitted to being concerned. :censored:
But I totally agree with you. Here's some better English words:
"No Hybrids scheduling for this...
Yup.
What wasn't posted to this thread is that Ford's manual says a couple things should be changed more regularly under certain uses. It's typical heavy usage maintenance schedule stuff versus "regular maintenance schedule" but the Mav manual calls it "special operating conditions"...
YAA (Your Auto Advocate) over on Youtube -- the "Pops" and son guys who share Black Book details and ex-dealer tidbits -- predict that Toyota lots will fall below 14-day inventory by end of year. Really crazy inventory levels. Toyota has only publicly said that they've slashed production by...
Yup, having the same disagreement with my SO. Swap Lux package to get AWD+4k Towing to minimize $ difference.
I've now been given the "I want more towing or a different truck". To which I reply:
"What will you be towing that needs 4k?" No real answer except "future proofing".
So Hybrid...
Nice graphic.
I'd bet the FordPass app will have the schedule in it.
My 2011 Wrangler schedule gets done "by the book" -- which means literally finding the schedule in the owner's manual, checking odometer, etc -- because there's no tech to help out a DIYer. My 2017 Volt schedule gets done...
Clearcoat question - how do folks prevent clearcoat failure?
I've had Ford clearcoats fail way back in the day (20+ years ago). It flaked off like eating a croissant. Granted, that happened after the car was 10+ years old but I hope to keep the Maverick.
Did Ford fix clearcoat failure? If...
Reddit had 3 Hybrids come in but the build dates are bit off on them. None were 10/18 build dates. So perhaps some Hybrid orders forgot to submit their builds 2 weeks ago?? Even if they really did get emails yesterday, 3 out of 18 (for Reddit) and 0 Hybrids here are poor odds.
Yup.
Car powertrains are like cooking equipment to me.
We've got a range of equipment nowadays, from open pit wood fire to induction cooktop. My in-laws have induction. They get near instant heat at the exact temp they want with near 0 heat loss, but none of that wood flavor. I've got an...
Highly recommend. Alex is a data nerd so he logged all kinds of details.
He climbed from sea level to 7,500ft IIRC, but it's been awhile since I watched these vids.
Also, he towed over the rated capacity 😳
So another bad writer at FoMoCo. It sure does read like they're mixing terms or at least muddied the waters.
Agree with ya.
If we are to believe the # in the official Tow Guide is Mav+towed, well then the Hybrid cannot tow anything. The Mav itself has a frontal area ~34.5sq ft. The guide...
