Big, huge warning: after you've gotten >40MPG, you don't go back. 😉
Prius drivers got a lot of hate but maybe they deserve some of it, because from their high-in-the-sky viewpoint, hearing clapping about 29MPG instead of 25MPG be like: : "what's that? A gnat?? Oh they got mid-20s. So cute...
Or how that delicious deep fried chicken breast wound up on our plates.
A lot of interdependent chains of logistical headaches happen. I work in software close to ERP, production scheduling systems, etc. There is a big, relavent counterpoint to your list: machines can also be told to...

I'm a long time Ford customer. From 80s stick shift Taurus to Escape Hybrid. But those cars were all the old dealer lot sales. Now Ford wants to shift (mostly) to build-to-order, and that's good, and we consumers change with that, but it's not really working.
Tim @ LM updated today...
Wow, yea so place bets on trade-in cash offers still going up.
I'll re-run my expired Carmax & Vroom offers on a Jeep Wrangler. Carmax was the lowest but that was months ago and things change.
Congrats on getting your Maverick! What was your build?
You must be new here. I've been an advocate of the Mav since it was announced, especially about the hybrid when FUD started happening around it.
I gave specific examples of how my dealer's communication & Ford's communication is severely lacking. I'm not the only one who has said the core...
I'm cancelling my order. Bought another truck.
Why? Why now? Reviews are out! Because "time kills deals".
My order would be cancelled already but my dealer is dragging their feet. Ford salesguy sent a nice "don't give up" email. Offered to swap in for the 1st EB they get on the lot ...
Spotted: Black XL at Broadway Ford in Green Bay. No bed liner. FWD.
I was actually running errands; my salesman didn't call me :( Pulled over to take a look. No pics sorry; we've all seen plenty of pics. But if you want to ask them...
That's ^ the truck that gets the Mav EB's MPGs that I couldn't remember.
I've never, ever seen the Diesel on sale for only $28k. MSRP is $10k more than that. The gas versions don't get that high MPGs.
Do you mean a used Diesel? They're just as hard to find. I've looked multiple times.
This opportunity cost is a reeeeeeeal stretch and IMO only thrown in now because the Mav is the 1st hybrid powertrain that is cheaper ($1,000 less) than its gas counterpart.
Before the Mav, every financial guru was against the more expensive hybrids because the operational ROI was 10+ years...
Return?? Unless the Mav will be a Classic collectible in 10 years, there's no ROI in asset value. New cars depreciate like mad.
Do you mean ROI in operational savings? Like savings in gas?
What's your experience?
The 1.5L from Ford does have some mechanics worried but that may be from...
That is Corporate Speak and requires translation. It's not reading tea leaves; PR teams at these multi-nationals run the drafted words through a chain of reviewers. Basically the PR guy said:
"We build ProductX Variant 1 and Variant 2."
and then he says
"ProductX is on track ... for fall."...
My dealer didn't encourage me to swap from Hybrid. Despite also getting The Memo that was leaked here. It's one reason I like my dealer, instead other dealers we hear pitching EB stock units they know will arrive before Hybrids.
My partner pushed heavily for the 4k Tow + AWD just 1 day...
Yup, glad I'm not the only one who thought Ranger's interior was mid-2000s. That isn't a deal killer but the Mav interior is much better IMO.
Should this matter? If the truck is reliable, then no; unless the interior is unusable / uncomfortable.
But given how much (other) people think about...
