  1. Virginia Dealer Selling Maverick XL for $36,000

Help me understand this. I'm really trying. Okay, you wouldn't pay that price, and neither would I. But someone will. So let them. Ain't no skin off your back, is it? Why the emotional response?
  2. Who here plans to order a MY2023 Maverick even if they already have one or ordered a MY2022 Maverick?

Nope. I've got what I need and Uncle Sam will be giving me at least $18,200 in a depreciation writeoff. Not going to mess around with waiting for months when I have what I need.
  3. Braking Maverick XL Hybrid

I don't hear any noise, but that's because I've got Sirius XM playing through Android Auto. It's more of a pulsing sensation in the brake pedal. Kind of like when you activate the ABS but it's a lot less intense. And it quickly goes away if there's any variation in the pressure on the brake pedal.
  4. Maverick Named One of 2022 Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX

Mid-size pick up my big fat hairy butt. To be fair, I am parked a couple of inches closer to the curb than the Ranger is. But you know why? Because I could! And I wouldn't give the Maverick an award for the interior, at least at the base level. It's good enough. It's like a couch from Macy's...
  5. Don't ruin it for the old guys!

I love saying this to my gen Z staff and when they retort okay boomer I tell them, wrong generation, whippersnapper.
  6. Can’t get Journey to work

It's been a mystery. But still they try to see. Why something good can fail so bad. Getting serious here, it's quirky for me. It seems like half of the trips I take don't show up. Still, I find the sensitivity for Journeys ridiculous. I'm not mashing the accelerator to the floor but it seems...
  7. A Detailers Maverick Experience: Thin Paint, Ceramic Coating, Etc.

Impressive effort on your part. Now, for those of us who are not willing to spend the time or the money to do all of that, here's a question. If I have it go through the no touch car wash and opt for the option that includes waxing, is that going to keep the truck in good shape? Mine is garage...
  8. Get a quote from Katzkin Seat Cover

This is exactly how I feel. Yes, it's got cloth seats. Yes, leather would be nicer. But the whole point of buying this truck was because it was an reasonably priced alternative to a ten year old used truck. Add $3K on and it's not so much of one. I'll deal with the cloth seats.
  9. 150 miles @ 75 mph, 29 mpg. No bueno.

Drag increases exponentially with an increase in velocity, not linearly. So that's one possibility. Edmunds explains it further. Here's Why Real-World MPG Doesn't Match EPA Ratings | Edmunds
  10. Anyone have issues with their power windows?

Sorry, couldn't resist. Kind of the like the dude in the picture.
  11. How about a $20000 markup?

Why? If it's not a order with an agreed upon price, what's the issue? If someone doesn't want to pay that markup (and I wouldn't), they can keep their money in their pocket and move on. If they're willing to, it's their choice.
  12. He sold his Tacoma and got a Maverick

That sentiment is exactly why I'm not waiting for the F-150 Lightning. Even the Pro level, which is all I would have bought, is way more truck than I need and it's double the price.
  13. Don't ruin it for the old guys!

I looked at purchasing an Element, but the combination of the age and mileage on them made me decided to forgo them in favor of a new, zero miles Maverick.
  14. Window sticker has "NB", not "NA" - why????

They just wanted to make sure all of the badging was done well. Thus, the NB notation. https://www.britannica.com/dictionary/NB
  15. Dozen Chevy Colorados Available in New Jersey

I didn't have one in my old Silverado. The defogger would barely clear up the windshield but you know what glass surface never needed to be defogged? The rear window.
  16. Manual Transmission

Yes, I know. That Mustang GT convertible parked next to the Maverick has one. But even most Mustangs are sold with automatic transmissions. And you know what? I'm actually fine with that. If I get enough spare change to buy the GT500, I'll have a lot of fun driving it even though the computer is...
  17. Don't ruin it for the old guys!

Oh yeah? In my day, we didn't have seat belts. If you got in an accident, you'd go flying through the windshield and your brains would splatter all over the place. Oh, no, look at me. My brains are splattered all over the tree. And that's the way it was AND WE LIKED IT! Oh. Wait. Young...
  18. Manual Transmission

Only around one percent of all cars are sold with a manual transmission. I don't even know if they'd work with the hybrid. I don't see Ford offering one because there's just no demand for it and it would add complexity to a supply chain that's already constrained. When they don't even have a...
  19. Don't ruin it for the old guys!

The Gen Z young whippersnappers who work for me tell me man buns are so passe now. But that's not the word they used. I forgot it because I have old man brain. That's okay, we're used to being ignored while we quietly work away and get things done. It's kind of what we did growing up. Your...
  20. Don't ruin it for the old guys!

Nah. I'd be all for the bells and whistles but I'm not willing to pay money for them because my Maverick is a work truck. While I'd rather have Sirius XM in the console and not have to access it through my phone, it's not worth paying to move up to the Lariat trim for that. And yes, I'd prefer...
