A couple days after I had Line-X spray in a bed liner (I think it cured in 24 hours) I went to Tractor Supply and bought a $40 rubber mat that's been in my truck ever since. My knees are grateful whenever I crawl into the bed to install or remove my soft tri-fold tonneau cover.
Which reminds...
You need 4 snow tires. You want equal traction in all four corners especially if you need to stop quickly on a slippery road.

I'm tempted to go with a year-round tire when it's time to replace the tires I've got now, the mediocre "all season" tires that came with my FWD XL and a set of Blizzaks I've mounted on a second set of wheels. However, I worry that if I don't need to change the tires twice a year I'll be too...
When I bought my truck, I would have preferred a small van, something with windows and 2 rows of seats.
However, more expensive / less economical / slower was not a compelling option at the time.

I'd say your camper looks pretty good as-is and the mpg losses are relatively minor.
I do appreciate your scientific approach! Now you need to attach short lengths of yarn to all the trailing edges and have a friend video you from another vehicle as you speed down the highway.

Is this number from your owner's manual?
https://www.ford.com/trucks/transit-passenger-van-wagon/models/transit-xl/ thinks a 2024 Transit wagon can tow 3,700-4,500 lbs.
I don't have a bed extender. When I haul brush I open the tailgate, put down a really big tarp, and pile the brush on top of the tarp as high as I like. I tug the loose sides of the tarp over the brush like I'm making a giant burrito and secure the tarp so I don't lose my load and the tarp...
You should have bought an XL. :)
I had to stick my arm up to the elbow under the driver's seat to reach the vent from the rear, but the fan definitely pumps air through it. However, to quote Glen B.: " It would have a tough time blowing out a candle."

I received my $10 key from the Ebay source you recommended, about two weeks after ordering it. It's a little rough to insert it in the lock compared to the original key but it works!
For my XL I just want an emergency spare that gets me into the truck - I know I can't start the engine with this...
I think Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking is standard on all Mavericks, including my cruise-control-less XL, but I haven't tested AEB myself.
My Maverick has a code "21K05". Maybe the letter represents the month (K=October, assuming Ford doesn't use the letter "I") and the 05 is the day of the month? 2021/10/05 for a build date?
I have a Line-X sprayed bed liner on which I put a 3'x4' rubber mat, $37 from Tractor Supply:
https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/utility-rubber-mat-black-4-ft-x-3-ft-x--frac12-in
It fits between the wheel wells without cutting, lets me use the floor-mounted tie-down rings I added, and I...
