If you attempt to go forward or backward (Drive or Reverse) with the parking brake on, your Maverick will automatically release the parking brake for you, but there is a slight but noticeable hesitation. It does seem that the front end rises up a little.
My 2022 XL (Xtreme Luxury edition) has a piston; later years do not.
There are thousands of Maverick owners driving around with Floppy Doors, so you needn't feel embarrassed. If it bothers you there's a surgical implant that can help.
I'll offer a suggestion because you and I are probably the only MTC members old enough to have grandchildren. It seems most Maverick owners are young punks with blacked-out taillights for their trucks and lowered suspensions.
I assume you mean the tether anchor near the headrests, not the...
I used this vendor a year ago to get a key made for my 2022 XL using a photo or two:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/235812903337
I see the price is still $10 but what was free shipping in 2024 is now $15.
This gets you the key blade only, no electronics.
I lock my fob in the truck when I go sailing...
Do you usually enable SPORT mode? The owner's manual says:
"For sporty driving with improved performance handling and response. This mode increases throttle response and provides a sportier steering feel."
"No options" made no sense when a factory-installed trailer hitch receiver was only $100.
I did wonder if it was a luxury to supersize the spare tire ($115 and it's still not "full size") but then I had occasion to use it, twice.
In total: $215 over base price. Yes, I'd do it again.
I've driven home from the dump with my tailgate open. There's drive-thru parking so I don't use reverse, and if I look in my rear view mirror all I see is my tonneau cover.
To be honest a quick "tailgate open" reminder in the instrument panel would be more useful than "the seatbelt in an...
If you buy a new Maverick in 2025 intending to keep it for 5 years then you really need a depreciation chart based on questionable statistics for the year 2030.
P.S. Everyone knows that Velocity Blue is the best color.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn you're right! Of course, Ford knows I've got a 2022, and they did send me the email. This doesn't inspire confidence that they can deliver an over-the-air update that won't permanently brick my truck.
My 1st guess is your USB cable. (I don't have a 2nd guess.)
I had difficulties with Android Auto and USB cables with both our cars, including "sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't." Sometimes I got it to work again by unplugging the USB-C connector and plugging it in again upside-down...
I just got an email from Ford announcing the new function. The links don't actually work, and if I login to ford.com or use the FordPass app I'm told, "Sorry, there are no connected services available at the moment."
I suspect that this new feature may not apply to my XL and I doubt Ford will...
Interesting video, Sam!
Question: why would Ford go to the expense of completely redesigning an engine, a redesign that provides almost no performance or fuel economy improvement?
Is the new engine cheaper to build?
You continue to confuse median wage for an individual with median wage for a household, a household being someplace where there may be more than one wage earner.
When you wrote "Median wage was $8730" in 1970 I saw that you were using data for a household, not an individual. Therefore I...
Nope. Median HOUSEHOLD INCOME in 1970 was $8730, compared to $75,000 in 2022.
Therefore the $19,995 Maverick XL I bought in January 2022 was about 1/4 of the median household income, and it has 4 doors, A/C, automatic transmission, power everything, etc.
