Q: Does the Maverick hybrid have an "EV mode" button like the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?
A: No, it does not.
Edited to add: Original poster asked about 37 miles of EV range... I think my RAV4 Hybrid might go a mile or two - the RAV4 PRIME might go 37 miles on its much bigger battery.
Looks good! However I don't have $1,760 burning a hole in my pocket, and I calculate that a 200 lb rack would reduce my truck's carrying capacity by 200 lbs, if I did the arithmetic correctly.
It's interesting to see what looks like a storage cubby in the XL's bed.
Ford's documentation says that XLT models have a "Cubby storage in bed" and the XL does not.
I assume the difference is that the XL doesn't have the plastic door?
Seems logical that Ford would use the same metal stampings...
I'll copy here something I posted on another forum a couple of days ago:
Q: Will it be possible to add cruise control to an XL by swapping its steering wheel and switches?
A: Who knows?
The Maverick is closely related to the Ford Escape, so I looked through Escape forums for answers.
Note that...
Yes, is it is color matched, but only if you order a black Maverick. :)
Most of the Maverick photos and videos on the Ford website show the spray-in bedliner, which is black.
"Do y'all suppose it will be car like in cornering?"
Nope.
1. The Maverick is 10-11" taller than your average car and you're sitting higher.
2. Because it's a hybrid, if you decelerate for turns and brake gently you'll recharge your battery and put no wear on the brakes.
I don't know how many people are cross-shopping a Maverick and a 1970 Camaro, but I thought you'd like some data for comparison.
Chevrolet Camaro 307 V-8 Turbo-Fire Hydra-Matic (aut. 3) 0-60 mph 9.4 seconds 13.3mpg
Chevrolet Camaro 350 V-8 Turbo-Fire Hydra-Matic (aut. 3) 0-60 mph 7.9 seconds...
I look forward to the Maverick Owner's Manual being on-line.
Until then, you might refer to the Escape Owner's Manual, as I expect that the hybrid technology will be similar.
For its hybrids, Ford seems to call engine braking "grade assist" which is supposed to detect when you're coasting...
The "trailer towing package" includes a Class III Hitch Receiver.
Question: is the basic Hitch Receiver option also Class III?
I mean, do all Ford trucks have 2" receivers?
I reserved a Maverick from the Ford website. Received an automated confirmation "<Dealer name> has received your 2022 Ford Maverick reservation" followed a minute later by an automated reply from the dealer. No reservation number is listed in either email.
I had called the Internet Sales...
I drive much less than you, so for me a hybrid's lower fuel costs won't justify the higher purchase price for years and years.
However, if the base powertrain for a non-hybrid Maverick is a 3-cylinder engine with cylinder deactivation, a turbocharger, and an 8-speed transmission, that's several...
An old article https://www.greencarcongress.com/2012/02/ford-20120224.html about Ford PowerSplit indicates that it is a planetary gear eCVT (no belts) similar to the one in my RAV4 Hybrid, which I like for its simplicity and expected reliability.
