Not too many automakers make hybrid vehicles, except some of the smaller manufacturers like Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, etc etc etc.
The Maverick is two feet longer than your Patriot and has a turning circle four feet wider.
The only time I notice the extra size compared to my Outback/CR-V/RAV4 is when reversing into a parking spot or trying to parallel park. I'm sure I'll get used to it; I've had my Maverick only a month.
