Hmm... I never noticed that row of holes hiding under the black trim piece in my Maverick. Looks like a good place to bolt on aluminum channel or angle; could be stronger than 3M double stick tape.
I don't have a tonneau cover for my XL, and I don't need one 99% of the time. But if ever I...
Whoa! A shorter truck with a smaller wheelbase has a smaller turning circle than a Maverick? That's amazing!
The guy says his Grand Cherokee gets 15mpg. Good thing it's maneuverable when he's looking for an available pump at the gas station.
I have no complaints about visibility when driving my Maverick. The A-pillar doesn't obstruct and I find the mirrors give me good coverage (which is fortunate as my XL has manual mirrors).
I see you have a 2010 Ranger single cab... I imagine the view over your right shoulder is better than it...
I followed advice from this forum - used more straps than I thought necessary, and when I was done I tugged on the straps experimentally and said out loud, "That's not going anywhere!"
Got a lot of strange looks from people in the Home Depot parking lot.
I think a cab-mounted rear view camera as "metalman329" describes is a great idea.
When I put a load of pressure-treated wood in my Maverick (yes, it is my first truck) I wished I had a way to check that the load was secure other than pulling off the road every 10 miles.
I suspect that the displayed "Distance To Empty" (DTE) may change after the TSB because once it's reset the computer forgets what average mileage you usually get.
I have no proof of this theory, but I did find a post in an F150 forum quoting from a 2016 Ford Repair Manual:
"The DTE is...
My XL tried to lock me out but failed.
I went to pick up a neighbor, parked in her driveway, and got out to help her with her walker. Engine was off and I left the key in the ignition so I couldn't have bumped the lock button by mistake. (I'm not worried about someone stealing my Maverick...
The way I remember it: Pull up on the switch to engage the parking brake just as you pulled up on the emergency brake handle between the seats in most cars that didn't have a pedal-operated parking brake.
Our RAV4 automatically engages the parking brake when you put the car in Park and...
No, it's not normal for a hybrid. If you had a FWD EcoBoost and a heavy foot, you might experience torque steer.
Your Lariat has "Lane Centering Assist." Have you turned that off?
If you're driving in Normal mode (Sport mode makes steering and accelerator more responsive) on a flat road...
My XL hybrid has to be in Ready mode with my foot on the brake pedal before the rotary shifter unlocks.
This suggests that there are at least two sensors communicating with the shifter lock, one of which may need adjusting on your truck.
Please let us know what you discover!
Interesting! I was not aware of a sensitivity setting but found it under "Pre-Collision Assist" starting at p.243 in the owners manual.
I experienced the shudder 2 or 3 times in my XL Hybrid in my first month of ownership but not since then. I thought maybe the transmission was "learning" my...
Don't forget a good USB cable for Android Auto (or its Apple equivalent) if you want maps, music, and recharging.
For a long East Coast journey you'd want to remember your EZ-Pass transponder; I don't know if there are toll roads in the midwest too.
