In my experience (built several systems and competed in USAC & IASCA), woofers made to perform in tiny sealed enclosures typically don't work in the same-sized enclosure that's ported. Generally, ported enclosures need to be significantly larger than their sealed counterpart.
If you want that...
Yes, that's key. It is user error - a person should have some sort of pad like that if they choose to jack it up on the pinch weld. But they don't all do that. And I've worked on their cars after they mangle them up.
Lateral strength is sufficient for this purpose. Block is constrained in...
If the question then becomes, does a rim which sticks inward an inch beyond stock fit ok?...
On my XL, I went to a 19x8" wheel with a 52.5mm offset. This new wheel is about an inch wider, and pretty much that full inch sticks inward beyond what the stock wheel did. Inboard clearance is just...
I screen-cap'd this in the past when I was shopping for my Mav, not sure where I got it. From Ford's site, maybe?
All models have the driver assist technology at the bottom.
I bought my XL used and the prior owner purchased CP360. I would not have chosen it as an option. Even though I've...
Wow, cool! Deal killer though - I don't have any vehicles where a collapsed jackstand can be slid under it without jacking it up first. Looks like this combo is 11 inches tall minimum?
I typically avoid jacking on the pinch welds because I've had vehicles, and have seen friends vehicles...
Glad you're ok.
To answer the question in your thread title... here's my reasoning for typically choosing NOT to look at similar threads. I don't come to this forum looking for misfortune, accidents, and destruction. It's unfortunate that accidents happen, but I don't get enjoyment from looking...
I don't need the better rear view, I want it.
I have an older Lotus Exige. I don't know why they have a rear view mirror in it (probably some automaker requirement?) because the engine is behind the driver and the top part of the engine and intercooler are located directly behind the rear...
The first one I made used a spring clamp, was just a bit too much grip. Wanted the ability to work the clamp easily with one hand inserting the blanket, and just pull to remove without needing to have hands on the clamps at all. Clothes pins did the job best. But great minds think alike. (y)
Very important:
If you have aftermarket wheels and had to use non-stock lugnuts, have the right sized socket for them and a breaker bar as well. And, keep a set of 5 stock lugnuts in the vehicle and the factory lug wrench in case you have to mount the spare.
Other smart things:
Insurance...
Use the forum search function to find others who have posted links to the factory service manual. It has all the torque specs listed in it.
When I did my suspension install on my FWD, the values below are what I pulled from that manual. The manual says most of the fasteners are one-use and...
Bought these and ended up not needing them. They were fitted to the vehicle and removed right away when I saw that I didn't need additional negative camber beyond what the factory bolts provided. I don't expect that the Mav suspension has changed for 2024 so they should work for that year as...
I needed to haul some stuff in the back seat and wanted some protection back there. I know there are rear seat covers available for this purpose, but I don't need anything that fancy. Then I'd care about scratching/scuffing that seat cover. Nah, I want something that's dirt cheap where I don't...
Even though Ford labels it a "bumper end cap", what I posted above is correct. It's the flat plastic piece that covers the hitch opening. #2 in this diagram:
Lots of other forum threads reference it.
Next up on the appearance improvement list - probably the dumbest thing I may do to the vehicle.
When the driver's visor is down, which is most of the time, I hate seeing those darn decals from the outside.
On a prior vehicle, I was able to find some decal vinyl in a color that perfectly...
I don't like the chrome badge, it has to go.
Saw @groovesocket 's thread where he did it in black vinyl instead and really loved the look. Took a close-up photo of the badge, cropped the image, used an online converter to turn it into a vector format. Took it to a buddy that has a vinyl...
I've autocrossed for more than 20 years, never heard of such a height restriction. Boy is that odd. Seriously - your local club chapter actually measures the vehicle height? I wonder if this is stated to discourage high center-of-gravity vehicles from participating due to the chance of...
