Update time. After a few more rainstorms and investigation, water was definitely leaking into/through the aluminum panels/seams and then dripping through the screw holes where the locking mechanism/hardware are mounted to the underside of the panel.
I sent Bak photos and an explanation, and...
Even if the new key wouldn't start the car, leaving it in the ignition all the time seems like a great way to get your window broken by someone who thinks they can just jump in and steal it
I think a lot of the batteries are bad - it's not necessarily the wiring harness issue. My hybrids been giving me deep sleep alerts constantly for the last few weeks with the weather getting colder. Multimeter at the battery shows low voltage every time I've checked. I'll take it in for warranty...
It's certainly not high def as far as resolution goes, but I've never had an issue with brightness. What trim level do you have? XL and XLT owners seem to complain a lot about the infotainment screen being dim generally, but lariat owners don't have issues in that regard
Hey OP, any updates on your situation? Now that the weather is getting cold, I'm constantly getting deep sleep mode alerts. And the battery has measured between 11.9 and 12.2 volts the couple times I've tested with a multimeter. The truck isn't just sitting - I drive around 30 miles every day...
Those are definitely not the taillight LEDs. They look like this.

The hybrid drive system uses the high voltage battery, which is a completely separate system from the normal 12v system that runs accessories and all the other electronics. Pretty sure deep sleep is an issue with the 12v system/battery, which is probably why your electric driving doesn't seem...
I've been getting deep sleep alerts constantly for the last couple months now that the weather has cooled off.
No issues with it failing to start. It's annoying though, so I'll have the dealership take a look at it eventually under warranty. I'm thinking possibly a bad battery exacerbated by...
1) it was cheaper out of the gate, 2) it'll be cheaper to operate, 3) more environmentally considerate, and 4) I have no need for four wheel drive or the EB's performance (and the hybrid really isn't a slouch at all in daily use anyway). Pretty simple really
These are definitely not custom built vehicles that can be specced out based on each individual customer's whims. If they were, they'd cost several times more than they currently do.
My lariat has a mute button on the steering wheel. I barely ever use it though (maybe out of habit since my old car didn't have one). Spinning the volume dial down takes half a second
People are really overthinking this "issue" with the cover. Unless you're under the truck every other day, unscrewing the cover and putting it back on are not a big deal whatsoever
Because there's still a lot of water and debris and shit on the road that you'll encounter that you don't want spraying all up in your engine compartment.
It's not really a skid plate (except I guess on the fx4). It's just a plastic cover
