I miss the auto-dimming SIDE mirrors I had on my Fusion, at least with the center rearview mirror it has a toggle, and the rear window is tinted more than the side window. Adding the auto-dimming center rear view is already a fairly easy and lost cost upgrade.
Look at flat tow plates. That is the only way I know of to add any sturdy attachment points to the front. I have a Demco base plate after reading multiple posts here on MTC about the ups and downs of different manufactures.
I just "converted" mine to PHEV :). I added a C14 socket to my rear bumper wired to an extension cord routed to under the back seat to plug in my Noco 5 to keep the battery charged up.

I don't know about registration prices in Ontario, but in California the Maverick has 1 more knock against it as it considered a commercial vehicle. It cost me $600 this year to register it, probably higher next year or the year after.
Love the effort. I also wish there was a color matched, or white in my case, hard cover as black absorbs too much heat. I also want tracks, preferably built-in. I'm not dead set on rolling, but a folding one would need to not cover 1/3-1/4 of the already short bed when fully open or BLOCK the...

FYI, There is nothing structural to attach front tow hooks to if you don't have the FX4 which comes with hooks...unless you add something like a flat tow plate
There are 2 types of sensors in the back. The small "button" like ones you can see, and the radar ones mounted under the tail lights and behind the bumper shell.
