So the 25s are the first year with the manual shifting on the mavericks? That explains why it's so weird lol
Don't get me wrong, I like that it does it better in automatic. I get to pay more attention to the road :-)
Same thing with the Tremor. I almost think that I have a glitch or something because in manual shift mode with the CC turned off, it will always skip second gear, and it will not let me manually downshift if that means putting it at about 3500 RPMs or higher. But the weird part is, with CC and...
Maybe Carlitos is right and the whole 'cruise control applying the brakes' only applies to Co-Pilot 360. If so, then that's kind of silly that it did not come with all of them that have cruise control :-(
I'm actually pretty content with the way that it down shifts in in tow / haul mode but if a reflash would have fixed the manual shifting problem in mine, that would be great :-)
This is either not true for the 25 Tremor or Co-Pilot 360 but it absolutely uses the foot brake on its own. I can see the brake lights come on when I come up on slow traffic or a speed zone or a corner when using the cruise control, and I can feel the vibration on the long hills when the brakes...
In my 25 Tremor, the cruise control absolutely uses the foot brake on its own and I love it. If you wish to add a little but more rpms for some supplemental engine braking, go to tow/haul mode for the length of the hill. Then go back to what ever mode you usually use at the bottom :)
Hopefully they changed some stuff from the 25 Tremor. The manual mode in my Tremor is a joke. It refuses to use 2nd gear at all and will ignore a manual downshift all together if it means it will put the engine above about 3500 rpm. Funny part is that in auto with cruise, it will use 2nd gear...
Yes. Mine does it, too. Usually when I am running in eco mode, in the hills, less than 50 mph. When it annoys me, I just bump it up to sport mode temporarily until I got through the slow area :)
When I started this post, I was thinking about what new ones were available from dealerships in the USA. I knew there were some from the past but this has been a nice history lesson and learning new stuff :)
This leads me to another question: Are there any new popular ones being built today...
I knew of at least three currently available unibody pickups available in the USA. I googled it to see if there were any more and I discovered some disturbing news: There are four.
First, the Honda Ridgeline. The living OG of the unibody pickups and the one thing that seems to bring old Ford...
And here are the first two versions of what I came up with for sleeping in the bed of the truck.
The first was just a cheap 4x7 2 man backpacking tent. It was set on two halves of a sheet of plywood, in the bed, that utilized the tricks in the bed for hauling a full sheet of plywood. This made...
Just keep an eye out on Facebook marketplace for a smaller roof top tent that has a problem with the cover or the ladder. Since it's going in your bed and under the tonneau cover, you really don't need either. The one I got had a leaking cover and I got it for only $300. I think mine is called...
I bought my Tremor back in February 2025 straight off the dealership lot, not ordered, with 16 miles on it. I have put lust over 20,000 miles on it since then. I commute 25 miles five days a week. It has been off road camping from Oceano Dunes to Death Valley and many places in between. It has...
That is all the better reason to buy one because if you plan on keeping your own Maverick for a while, they'll be a plenty of parts in the future. If you buy a vehicle that did not do well and only made it for a couple years, good luck on getting parts for it 10 years from now
2025 Tremor here. Mine pops when I go through the car wash blow drier. It sounds like the police are knocking on it with a flashlight. At first, it was kind of scary hehe
Coming from a guy that managed to make a roof top tent work inside the bed, I like what you have done. I like how it stays very close to the roof line and you can close the tail gate, and once it is set up, it seems very roomy. What I also like is that you seem to have plenty of space in it for...
I keep a paintball gun broken down and in the pocket behind the driver's seat at all times. I know this does not help you but I figured you guys might get a giggle about something I never had a reason to mention on MTC before.
P.S. Add "Paintball Gun Air Canister" to list of things that fit...
I definitely feel ya. When I first started looking at the Mavericks, I was actually looking at the hybrids. I wanted to stick to a specific dealership, I did not have time to wait and order one, and I was stuck on getting that Co-Pilot 360 as an option. I 'ended up' with a Tremor and that 2.0...
