I agree that cord quality is the culprit in most problems like this. I may be wrong, but I believe the big difference between USB -> USBC and USBC -> USBC is that the old school USB does not fast charge.
I'm over here visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I got here pretty early to this parking lot right next to the aquarium. It was still almost empty and the only other vehicle in the parking lot at the time was another Maverick. Of course I had to park right next to him and get a photo. Then I...
I went cheap just because I'm cheap hehe. It worked out in the end for the same reason you want a roll up one. I found a way to put a roof top tent in my bed and I need that tonneau cover to be out of the way to set it up :)
Three total, one in the back, once or twice a week, is pretty common. One time only, I did have 4 adults and a 17 year old in my Maverick. I cannot confirm nor deny that all rear passengers were buckled in, and how comfortable it was (or wasn't) hehe
This is my second time camping in this area. The first time, I camped with a friend closer to Ridgecrest. That weekend, I did go to to Burro Schmidt Tunnel in my Maverick, via Mesquite Canyon Road. I did attempt to continue west after visiting the tunnel, towards Last Chance but that route was a...
This was my first time here. It is still pretty wide open. It is crazy how all there streets are laid out with utilities and fire hydrants and almost no one lives there. If you look at it on OnX, you can see all the properties are purchased. 90% of the owners seem to be individuals, like some...
I watched the very end of the second clip over and over looking for the critter and I could not find what you were talking about. Then, I wondered if you were talking about the first clip and I think I saw right away what you are talking about. The shadow on the ground right at the end of the...
Here's a couple drone videos of me and my Maverick Tremor around California City. I was mostly solo on this trip because everyone else was on side-by-sides and dirt bikes. There was no way I was keeping up.
The first clip is a short one of a little hill I found on the way to Jawbone. I don't...
I am happy to report that I haven't hit my shin on it yet. After a lifetime of bashing my shins on assorted hitches, I think my body subconsciously stays clear the rear of pickups LOL
Yes, that is still the original factory tires and wheels and suspension height that the truck came with. I have only added those mud flaps, the tonneau cover, and now my bumper bumper. They do make much narrower skid plates that attach to the hitch but I wasn't looking to protect the middle of...
I intentionally did not make my welds very strong and hopes that it will give out before Ford's welds do. It's not the kind of truck to do much rock hopping. I mostly stick to mud and sand. Hopefully I never have to find out who's welds were stronger :-)
That's okay. Maybe I didn't explain it enough. All the guys with all the big RVs came in from the direction of Tehachapi, through downtown California City, to the far east side, where we were all camped. The roads that they came in on were paved and in decent shape. When it came to the...
That's cool :-) I didn't hardly spend any money on it. I already had the hitch. I got the tubing from the scrap metal pile at my work. All that it cost me was the electricity to cut off the ends, clean it up, and weld it, and then one rattle can of black paint :-)
I definitely take it easy. If I would have tried that same dip without the bumper bumper, the plastic bumper cover would have bottomed out instead. Sure, this is my fun off-roading camping vehicle, but it is also my daily commuter and my only vehicle. I don't get too crazy with it. When on the...
You may have seen a couple photos of my homemade rear bumper bumper that I just posted as comments in other posts. I have been thinking of making something like this because the departure angle on the Tremor is so bad compared the the approach angle. I was bottoming out the rear bumper...
* Queue someone screen shotting the owners manual saying that you shouldn't put the truck in neutral while it was moving * :D
That actually brings up a wonderful childhood memory of my Dad in his Oldsmobile land yacht, putting it in neutral and coasting down some windy roads, while trying to...
I like that you do not have to put the truck into P before turning it off. The headlamp switch also turns for ever and ever but defaults back to 'auto' when you start the truck again. This is convenient for when you park the truck and you want to kill the lights and sit in the truck for a moment...
It's kind of funny the way that the Mavericks are sitting right now with the drivetrain selections. It's either one extreme or the other. Either have great acceleration or great MPG but nothing in between LOL
