Ironically, as I write this, my son and I are quarantined. He is positive an I tested negative. Interesting that I currently have the same symptoms as he does. Difference, I got the vaccine and he did not, due to being under 12. I am grateful I did as my symptoms are not that bad.
I am seriously considering getting winter tires as soon as the Maverick arrives, build is 2nd week of October. By the time Spring gets here I should see what others are swapping and what fits. Do you all think the stock Pirellis are that bad?
I have the Maverick ordered and a Oct build date. I also have a Broncho reservation. No order yet as I would likely have a 22MY, if soft-top and 2.3. I might just keep the Maverick and see how I like it. If I need more off-Road capacity I can get a 4wd later.
My choice vehicle will be a daily driver, 1.5miles to work and running errands. I put ~7,000 miles a year average. I do want to do some mild dirt roads and remote camping.
The Bronco would be a base 4 door and aftermarket tires, ~$35,000. My ordered Maverick is XLT lux, AWD, FX4, 4k tow...
I wonder (hope) if the OEM Pirelli's will be an improvement over the 'off the rack tire store' Pirelli's. I have never had them or know anybody personally that did/does. I would not mind a lighter weight all-terrain for summer. Likely getting snow tires when i get the truck.
I will wait. My Maverick is a want, not a need. Not much out there anyhow to switch to. I understand some people 'need' a vehicle, for those I sympathize. I waited 9 months for both my boys, this one will hopefully be half the time.
Scheduled week of 10/11, ordered early June. XLT w/lux, 2.0 AWD, FX4, 4K tow, Sunroof in Velocity Blue from Bowen Scarff Ford in Kent, WA. No add-ons, will get later aftermarket.
1. Good detail/wax. 2. Tint windows to match. 3. Possibly speakers, depending on stock sound quality. 4. First Aid kit with tow straps and tie downs. 5. DIY bed cover. 6. Look at alternative tires replacements. 7. Bed mat and floor liners. Later I might consider a 1 1/2" lift, Ford tune, bed or...
Reality is I will be in a Starbucks drive through sing; "I got a shotgun, rifle and an all-wheel drive and a country boy can survive." When people look at me strange I will just point to the FX4 sticker on the bed.
We lost one patient this year (2021) where I work as a nurse. She just died in the last 24 hours. However, she was very sick to begin with and would need oxygen prior to her onset of Covid. This latest 'Delta' variant is like a flamethrower in a lumber mill.
As for masks and there...
