I started out mostly using normal mode, but lately I've been giving eco a try. I find I really like the extra regen braking, and the brakes in general seem to behave a little better at very low speeds. Gas mileage doesn't seem much different either way for me, so I guess it's a battle between...
Yeah, I had an '88 LX 5.0 5-speed back in the day, and it was around 6 seconds 0-60. I gotta say it's impressive that the Eco Boost Maverick is pretty close to that with it's 2 liter engine and superior gas mileage. However.....the competition would have been totally over once you got beyond 60...
Not trying to stir up a fuss, but I really don't get the big deal about fog lights. I've only had one vehicle that had them. (Chevy Trailblazer) I tried them out a couple of times in foggy conditions and I honestly couldn't tell any difference. 🤔 Never bothered with them again.
Well it's been a week now and I can say that in my case at least, using "Eco" mode has completely eliminated the uneven braking issue. Smooth as glass all the way to a stop. Perhaps that indicates it is a simple adjustment issue for most. I hope so, because it would be nice to be able to use...
I see honeybees hanging out on my hood all the time since the weather warmed up. Just now took these photos while waiting for my wife at the doctor’s office. Coincidence …or something less? Who can say? 😜
Great review.
You are spot on about the eCVT. The sound of an engine revving through gears is kind of a mental benchmark....and without it, it's a bit disorienting. When my wife got home after driving ours to the store for the first time, she said she was going to have to be more...
Excellent advice. I haven't used eco mode much, mostly because my old car was such a gas hog that the worst the Mav can do is amazing by comparison. Wasn't gonna split hairs over a mile or two per gallon. However, I tried it on the way home this afternoon, and the (admittedly minor) uneven...
Almost two months in and I can report I've had zero connectivity issues with mine. I use CarPlay, and my wife uses Android Auto. Both work perfectly. Had it in the shop for a week to repair a bumper scratch from shipping, and the 22 Edge they gave me as a loaner functioned exactly the...
Although I have had a couple of instances of the grabby brake issue in 800 miles, I have never experienced even the slightest hiccup in reverse. In fact it feels a little different in reverse. I suspect it's just ordinary conventional braking.
The first time it happened for me the auto hold was indeed on...but the second time it was not. Considering how crazy smooth everything else about this powertrain is, the feeling was a bit startling and accompanied by a distinctive metallic "clank", so I doubt you would have overlooked it. If...
It has happened to me twice now at 850 miles under the exact conditions you described. In both cases the engine happened to be running at the time, but it could be coincidence. It's a minor thing of course, and if it's just inherent I can certainly live with it....but I wouldn't mind hearing a...
YouTube video of Hybrid Speedometer during 0-110 MPH run. It's limited to that speed, and I believe I've read the Eco Boost is limited to 115 or possibly 120 MPH. So I'd say the hybrid can handle 80 plus speeds very comfortably. I wouldn't know myself, because I rarely drive over 70. Hey, don't...
Thanks! It's an amazing little truck, and I expect you will absolutely love how it drives. I alternate between happy that I got lucky in the allotment process...and bummed over the fact that so many others are still waiting. I can't get my head around how Ford can allow JUNE orders to sit...
I'm right with you on that. My first car was a 72 Maverick with a 302, and I thought its 9 second-ish 0-60 was pretty darn fast. And it still boggles my mind that my new hybrid Maverick beats the old one's time by a second and a half....while getting just about triple the gas mileage.
I have to admit the electric parking brake made me a little nervous on a steep driveway recently. I kind of missed the reassuring feel of giving a manual brake lever a good strong pull. But then, cables can also potentially fail. Plus the vehicle is still in park as well, so.....
I honestly didn't expect to like the dial shifter. It just seemed weird somehow. At best I figured I'd be ambivalent, but surprisingly, I took an immediate liking to it. It's completely out of the way for one thing, and I like the way it feels. You don't have to carefully select each position...
