    Metro Detroit Mavericks

Homelink works with all garage door openers. You don't need a special set up at your house. My girlfriends Edge has homelink and it works with my old sears garage door opener. I have no idea why homelink wasn't available on a Maverick.

    Metro Detroit Mavericks

    I wish mine had homelink!
  5. Maverick Bed Cover water intrusion into the bed

It's probably not the cover. The tailgate itself has way too much of a gap in it to keep water out. You can find videos of how people use weather striping to help seal the tailgate.
  6. Auto Stop Quit Working

Could be battery. It could be you just have the heat on. When you are using heat/AC I have noticed mine won't activate the auto start/stop. If you have other accessories pulling battery power it will prevent it from working. I know if you have a light up hitch that connects to your trailer...
  7. Goodbye Maverick, Hello ⚡️

I have driven them and they ride great. They still seem pretty gimmicky to me. It's gonna cost a pretty penny for you to put a home charging station in. Even with the extended range battery its not practical for long road trips or towing/hauling. If you just use it for a daily driver and have a...

  9. Wheel Lock "Goldilocks" -- McGard vs Gorilla

Wheel locks do absolutely nothing to stop someone who wants to steal your rims.

    Lifted Mavericks

I can't believe nobody has made a club for lifted Mavericks. I waited too long, so no I'm taking it upon myself to start one!
  11. Open space in the front doors

I tried putting different water bottles there, but they will pop out going around corners. Seems a bit of a safety issue if a bottle was to pop out and get under the break pedal.... 🤷‍♂️
  12. Maverick wins 2024 Best CPO Value in America Award

If you are playing more for a CPO vehicle than a new one then you aren't shopping around. If you know a dealership that is charging more than MSRP for a used vehicle then you know they are shady AF!
  13. Engineering Explained: Do You Really Need AWD or Winter Tires? (summer/all-season/winter tires, and FWD/RWD/AWD)

Yeah AWD and 4x4 will help you if you get stuck, but they don't do crap for you stopping on snow/ice. FWD is great because you have all the weight of the engine over the front tires. Makes it really easy to get going in the snow! I remember back in the 90s going with my uncle to pick up or drop...
  14. Engineering Explained: Do You Really Need AWD or Winter Tires? (summer/all-season/winter tires, and FWD/RWD/AWD)

Yeah, I was living in Petosky when I had my little 93 fwd Escort and never had any issues.
  15. Engineering Explained: Do You Really Need AWD or Winter Tires? (summer/all-season/winter tires, and FWD/RWD/AWD)

I wouldn't think you would ever need them, but they aren't too expensive and don't take up too much space. If it gives you peace of mind, go for it. They hybrid fwd is really good in snowy conditions, just make sure you have the right tires. We hit up St. Johns on our way back from up north all...
  16. Engineering Explained: Do You Really Need AWD or Winter Tires? (summer/all-season/winter tires, and FWD/RWD/AWD)

I lived in northern Michigan most of my life. I have had fwd, rwd, and 4x4s. 95% of people will never NEED AWD or 4x4. I never got stuck in my little Escort(FWD), Ranger(RWD) or my Monte Carlo(FWD). I only used 4x4 in my Blazer a couple of times while off-roading. Having the right tires and...
  17. Scheduled Starts Deactivated

It's a 15 minute start. My issue is that Ford Pass deactivated my scheduled start because I didn't use my truck on a holiday. Living in MI the cold weather tends to kill batteries if the truck isn't being used on a daily basis. On weekends sometimes I will use my girlfriends Edge so we can put...
