I've been out of the US. I see them trying to horse Rangers through those streets (more like footpaths in the Phillipines). A Maverick would be an improvement as far as trucks go. Not gonna compete with their ultrasubcompact cars, but it doesn't need to.
I don't see them going back to small sedans and hatchbacks, but they do need something cheaper than the current Maverick. Not necessarily smaller, but cheaper. I still think it's a mistake to discontinue the Escape, and that could slot in below if equipped right. The Maverick was supposed to be...
UHaul isn't buying Mavericks to rent out. Small businesses and independent contractors, on the other hand, might jump at them if they're priced right (and if they meet their needs). They're less likely to be interested in some of the Ford Pro software offerings too. It sounds weird but I think...
I'm going to assume production is still slow on the 2025s because of the changeover. They're probably not running the line at max speed yet, hoping to catch any issues that might still be happening. They just started making the 2025s in what, November? And it's a pretty significant refresh...
I'm noticing the larger cars get and the higher beltlines get, the more that camera systems get very very useful, along with radar sensors. You just can't see the borders of a car the way you used to be able to. I haven't been able to live without rear cross-traffic either since I got my first...
I think you're right. Ford didn't place bets on any one thing and diversified their investments. If BEVs take off they've got the ability and experience to pivot that way. Same with any other powertrain. They can' draw from F150 experience, MachE experience, Mustang experience. And I'm impressed...
Ok THIS one there's a reason for. If that's one of the ones with the torsion-beam suspension, then as it goes up it may move a little towards the torsion beam too, it's the way some of them are designed. Bugged me too but I just had to deal with it.
The Escape line is in Louisville. It's a C2 platform car like the Maverick. They're planning on discontinuing the Escape anyway. They could convert the line to Maverick production. Yes, in 4-6 weeks.
I don't like the idea of discontinuing the Escape, but if they insist on doing it, make...
Pet peeve: no audio cue for someone in your blind spot. Only a flashing indicator light. In your mirror. Which you aren't necessarily looking at, you might be looking over a shoulder instead. There isn't even a dash alert. If someone's in your blind spot when you're trying to move over (into the...
I didn't mind the feature much, I tend to only use it on the highway and it seems to be well behaved there. Hasn't mistaken an off ramp sign yet (the software should really filter out anything with a yellow background anyway).
You CAN turn it off you know.
Our first Maverick (2022) replaced a KL Jeep Cherokee...and did a much better job of carrying stuff, much as I liked the Jeep the interior wasn't well laid out for cargo.
This most recent one replaced a 2018 Kia Niro we no longer needed because I don't have a 50 mile commute each way anymore.
