Toyota and Stellantis seem to be the only ones doing eAWD these days. Ford used a mechanical driveshaft in the Escape Hybrid, so it's likely they'd stick with what they're experienced with on the Maverick.
Even the tri-fold hard cover leaks, the main advantage to it is making the bed completely lockable. These things aren't meant to be watertight. But I hate it, it gets in the way and blocks off full use of the bed. This time I'm going with the foldable and removable soft cover.

That's one thing I love about hybrids. So much low end torque. Even my little gerbil powered Niro has got some nice low end because of the electric motor.
I think Ford would rather sell hybrids anyway. More CAFE offsets. Wouldn't surprise me if the EcoBoost gets limited to the Tremor and Lobo at some point, and they try to upsell people to the Ranger.

I did some math on this on another forum. Essentially you'd be looking at minivans for comparable cargo options. Even though the Mav is based on a compact SUV, the open bed gives it much more cargo area than any compact SUV can hope to have. And minivans are expensive in comparison.
