  1. Do you have the right to know…

Pretty sure your warranty starts at the number of miles it had when you took possession, not zero. The number of miles should be noted on your paperwork. And I'd rather they found and fixed an issue during dealer prep than after I took delivery. My CEL was on when it came off the truck. They...

Quite well. In fact the seats heat up about the same as the XLT with cloth.
  3. Couple days in to my new 2025 Lariat Hybrid (compared to 2022 XLT)

A couple days in on the new 2025 Lariat, and there's a few things I'm taking note of, comparing to my 2022 XLT. Some good stuff, some bad stuff, some "I don't know" stuff, but all stuff I find interesting. The ActivX pleather seats are comfortable but NOT breathable, and don't feel like...

I can see wanting to avoid cloth because of stains or damage. As not-durable as the pleather might be, it's still likely more durable than cloth would be. Personally I didn't care. I prefer cloth but not enough to worry, and to get the ACC i have to put up with the pleather. I can always get a...

I think the big worry is those dishonest dealers. We all know there's still plenty out there and some are hard to avoid is you didn't know ahead of time. It's hard to place a car order, wait three months, then walk out. And they know it.

They can't. But some unscrupulous dealers might try anyway and pocket it.

This is The Internet, stop using logic and reason where it doesn't belong.
  8. Price increased as of January 27, 2025

I think most people bought XLT and Lariat (and Tremor now). XL being the base trim is probably the fleet special.

Going to depend on a lot of factors. Bad dealers will probably try to tack it on whether the car entered the country before the tariffs were applied or not (some of them are doing "market adjustment" markups anyway). I don't know if Ford will offer support to the dealers, might depend on the...

It's always the customer. The question is going to be how much more price increase are customers of the Maverick going to taolerate before sales start dropping?

Latest news I've seen is that he might decide tonight. At which point a bunch of news outlets updated their "Trump tariffs" articles with that information, but leaving existing headlines and summaries in place. I'm keeping an eye on the news, but nothing official yet.

Half of me thinks Toyota is the best positioned to release something in this segment. The other half thinks Toyota doesn't want to cannibalize Tacoma sales, especially when they just launched a major redesign. Not that it actually WOULD cannibalize those sales, but they don't know that.

The Tu The Santa Cruz is literally a modification of the Tucson. The powertrains almost HAVE to be compatible. I don't think Hyundai expected the hybrid Maverick to be popular any more than Ford did, but they've had a lot of time to pivot.
  14. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

I see Priuses blowing past me doing 85-90. They're idiots. I tend to do 65-70 and it keeps me right around what the EPA says. If I'm willing to slow down (which sometimes I am if the traffic is slower) it'll go up. A lot of it is situational.
  15. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

There are ways you can drive on the highway to improve MPG. What people call "hypermiling," when you pulse and then coast, etc etc. Lets the battery charge more so you can use the electric motor more...but it really annoys any drivers behind you.
  16. Windshield wipers are just...too........darn...........slow.

I think wiper speeds have just gotten slower in general over the past 30 years. Or maybe that's me getting old and curmudgeonly. I also remember my driving instructor saying to never use "high" because it was too fast. Maybe some regulatory person agreed. I wouldn't mind a setting above the...
  17. Recommendations for truck bed cover?

I went with the OEM Ford soft tri-fold. It does tend to parachute a little at higher speeds, but the installation hardware is pretty minimal and minimally intrusive on the bed, and it's pretty easy to remove when needed (important criteria for me). There's a few aftermarket options that look...

I don't get it either, it seems like a no brainier. On the other hand, it's already more expensive than the Maverick anyway, and maybe they think that might drive the price up to far. But it should be an easy drop in of the Tucson systems.

Adaptive Cruise Pleather seats I think the 360 camera too There's some significant features added with the Lariat trim. Whether those features matter to you might be a different story of course.

In fact that's probably likely. If you really want to, you can get an F-150 for $40k. Base XL, RWD, cloth seats, and not much else, but you could. Whether you NEED the capability of a Ranger or F150 or not doesn't seem to register.
