Already do that but would like to avoid carrying extra containers and putting more stress on the rear floor and frame frame of the camper where most of the bounce is. Already moved the battery from the front tongue to the back (installed 3 100ah in the back).
Trailer is level and properly loaded. Water tank being forward of the axle is the problem. Been towing for 30 years. Not over the 400#, just closer than I'd like.
The problem is the water tank is up front and not over the axle. filling it for boondocking adds almost 160 pounds forward of the axle and puts me close to the hitch limit of the Mav. For now we carry the water in the Mav if we can't fill with fresh water at our spot. Was just hoping the Ranger...
Reset and was watching the current mpg. Only 12 mpg and not pushing it at all. Doubt it would get much better after break-in and towing a camper I'd never hit the 13 mpg in the hills I'm getting with my Mav.
Went and test drove a Ford Ranger with tow package yesterday as I was interested in getting something that will handle more hitch weight as I'm close to 400 pounds now with my camper loaded. Just driving the '25 Ranger on country roads I was only getting 12 MPG. Heck, I get a steady 13 MPG...
'23 XLT. I don't have back-up (Rear Parking Assist), only blind spot and cross traffic. Rear Parking Assist was only listed as available on the Lariat Co-Pilot360TM Assist Package for 2023.
Silly me, I ordered the XLT Lux package and loaded with Blind Spot and everything else with what I thought would also be back up sensors since they were standard on everything I had before it. Boy was I surprised.
It's a Garmin BC 30 camera with an extension so the camera transmitter can be mounted on the front of the camper. You have to make sure to buy the version that's compatible with the model Garmin you have though. Their RV GPS don't all use the same camera which sucks.
I don't know of anything...
I was considering getting it and having a steel plate welded to the cross frame in front of it to protect the tank move the outlet but when I asked a local trailer/truck place and showed them the photo they said they wouldn't do it without removing the plastic tank first. They couldn't tell from...
That pre wire mount from the factory is only a bracket with a pair of 12V wires from the running lights circuit for a Furrion back-up camera. I don't know of any wireless camera that will display on the Ford screen. I mounted my Garmin back-up camera on mine ('25 KZ Sportsmen 130RD) using that...
Same here. The teeth barely touch the tire and the tire is secure when cranked up. Even if it did move when truck is bouncing around, it still would be nothing compared to what a tire sees when on the surface of the road.
