I did jump up in the bed and look at the new ones with one of the dealer techs after they replaced it, but I must not have taken any pictures because I can't find them. The tech said they had to pull down the headliner to do the swap, I expect there's a power connector hidden up there.
Update!
The dealer did replace the 3rd brake housing under warranty, but creased the headliner and left dirty fingerprints on it ☹
And then..
The newly replaced 3rd brake is already melting again!
I actually already own the Lasfit LEDs, but haven't installed them in case it causes my...
Just left the dealer after 10k service visit, and they said replacing the assembly would be covered under warranty on my next visit for the parking software recall.
It could be an original defect, but the way it sits right above both bulbs makes me think the heat from them is melting the plastic.
OEM bulbs, nothing aftermarket, and I don't make a habit of manually kicking the cargo lights on with the button in the cabin very often.

My impression of most cvts from the 2010s is that they "faked" the shifting RPM bands of automatics so drivers wouldn't think something was wrong. My hybrid Maverick is the first vehicle I've encountered that just smoothly accelerates all the way up.
A year ago I would have agreed wholeheartedly. Now? I don't know; I feel like the old man being told "the future is now!" That's how impressed I am with the jump from 90s car to Maverick.
So my Maverick is my second daily driver ever, my first being a '98 manual Civic. But the lack of a clutch on the maverick, and how smooth it accelerates retuned my feel for how autos drive.
Also coming from that Civic: working vehicle AC is so nice to have. Who knew?
I'm down in Florida this week visiting some family, and wound up driving one of their cars from Jacksonville to Tampa. On the drive I commented that it felt like their transmission was going out. The car would jerk under just a slight change in throttle.

Yes and I believe shorter ones would fix it. But to be honest the whole mechanism is crap. They give you these little metal stubs to hold the material to the hood, and it just doesn't work well to begin with.
The Maxzina engine bay insulation that installs to the underside of the hood uses bolts to clamp metal bars against the cutouts in the hood. After installation I can see a dent in the hood from where the bolt pushed against it. I advise you to be cautious if you want to install one of these...
For the 25 MY Mavericks there's just so much low hanging fruit Ford botched in the software.
The full-screen animations when changing modes is a jerky and stuttering failure, and each one takes several seconds, making changing modes an awful user experience: click, wait, wait, wait, click...
Thanks @HeyBales I'll work on locking down the parameters that the flickering occurs with. Though it's so fast it is difficult to see from inside the cab.
