Definitely agree on the backseat. They pulled that with the ranger, too, and I hate it. I specifically tested a Colorado immediately after a Ranger so I could make the comparisons. Hated the Colorado, lol.
Ridgeline is way wider than any midsizer. It's a full-size suv made into a truck. Colorado definitely isn't larger, it's tighter than the Ranger, which has less usable interior space than the Mav. To be fair, I haven't been in the new Frontier, but I'd like to. No Nissan dealerships near me. (No...
Whatever midsize truck you compare against, just know in your mind the following imo:
Maverick will generally have more usable interior space given similar dimensions.
Maverick will sit MUCH lower than any midsize, both driving position and ceiling.
Mav has a nice, configurable bed, but the...
Color-wise I like it, but it feels like the plastic to painted metal ratio is too high on the profile. You don't have to please me, though :)
(Maybe a lift and larger tires would help... >:3)
I spent some time with a couple of Mavericks and also decided it's not for me, but I have a positive feeling about the Mav. Gotta set your expectations - it's modern, but it's not a F-150 in fit and finish. It's roomy like a crossover, not a SUV. Etc. It's definitely a budget car that can be...
My Forester gets mid-high 30s in real trips on country roads. Doesn't have to fake it :P
My limited time in a not-broken in AWD fx4 model was good for mid 20s in mixed driving, and I drive softer than granny.
I started with the Maverick, now I'm likely to end up in a F-150. Waiting gives us too much time to think about alternatives :) Congrats on the uber capable truck!
I like the package contents of the XLT with the luxury package more than the base lariat, and a lariat with lux gets too close in price to mid/full size trucks for me to justify. I'm also not a fan of sliding rear windows.
My two cents, anyway.
