If you have an OBDII reader or can stop by an auto store to find the code, it will give you a better idea of the issue and which corner it's on. For me, I cut the front right wiring off-road. Wasn't obvious at all.
The design is a head scratcher. I'd say it's made to generate revenue for the dealers so they can charge you $300 for a battery and $50 for installation, but everything else is fairly easily serviceable on these things so I don't know that that makes much sense.
Completely normal. These are very efficient engines.
The highest I've seen was 210 degrees beating the crap out of it off-road in sport in 95° F while running the AC. The radiator fan was really working...
Dealers often don't want warranty work. It pays poorly, techs don't want it, and it's certainly not as high of margin as charging someone $120 to change a $15 air filter in 2 minutes for both the dealer and techs.
Personally, I would either get a new one made by Ford, a used one from a wrecked truck, or a third party option. All are available on eBay. Third party options are as low as $55.
I've been quite critical of certain choices Ford has made, but the AWD system is simply phenomenal. Literally zero complaints from me in 4 years that I've owned mine.
With more capable tires made for snow or all terrains, it's even better.
2022-2024 model years require a visit to the dealer or a visit from one of their mobile mechanics. The only thing you can update is the infotainment.
2 mpg is a rounding error when you consider change in driving habits, traffic, and temps.
The AM/FM signal is strictly through the screw-on antenna. The sharkfin on the Maverick is for GPS/satellite radio (if equipped).
The stubby noticeably affected my reception in the Seattle area for HD radio. It's the only Maverick accessory I have ever returned in my 4 years of owning this vehicle.
I've driven at least hundreds of miles on forest service roads with my Maverick and have beat the crap out of it. I have never cracked the sensor itself, but I did destroy the wiring. That wiring is exposed for the last 6-12" with NOTHING but black tape. Built Ford Rough, baby!
Fixed it myself...
Yes, mostly when doing trail work and shuttling with mountain bikes. Otherwise, the back seat is either empty or used as a storage space for my duffel bag, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad when I'm going camping.
