I had those mobile updates done as well. Coincidentally or not, that is around the time the battery saver mode starting popping up. I haven't yanked the ever more (un)popular number 11 yet. Maybe I should give that a try.
I've been dealing with the same battery issue for at least 3 months, with a replacement under warranty thrown in there. Voltage drops to 11.6 or lower every night. I have patiently tried to allow the dealership to find a fix. I am now fairly convinced that is not going to happen. Thank you MTC...
I sure hope that works out for you. What I didn't disclose in the latest thread was I did have my factory battery replaced under warranty about 3 months ago. It took some convincing. Unfortunately that has not remedied the problem.
So regarding battery stratification, It sounded like a process to correct a problem. It's actually a condition where heavier acid settles to the bottom of a battery in the electrolyte solution. So maybe take it out once in a while and shake it up like a can of paint? Let's give it a shot.
I feel your pain and all I can say is good luck. I've been dealing with the same issue for about 3 months now in my '24 Lariat hybrid. 12v reading 11.5-11.7v every morning before driving. Battery saver mode is a daily occurrence, Ford Pass app is useless for remote functions. The dealer had it...
Perspective: you could have been one of nearly 100,000 Toyota Tundra owners that needs an engine replacement. I would definitely want to part ways with that. So tail light issues, camera freezes (on a very few) and an occasional software update in your own driveway doesn't sound that bad.
A word of caution before you purchase. Check with your dealership's service department on their policy regarding these warranty plans. Not all will honor them after the manufacturer's warranty has expired. My dealership does not and they are not required to.
Put it on a trickle charger overnight then check state of charge. If that doesn't work out then repeatedly take it back to the dealer until they replace it with an AGM button cell.
Oh wait....wrong battery
Thanks for that. On my initial post however, I did mention that my dealer had already contacted a Ford engineer for support. Maybe that had the desired effect.
I've always wondered if any benefit ever resulted from responding to that account.
Duly noted and you may very well be right. But I am choosing a different path toward a hopeful resolution to this issue. I'm willing to sacrifice a "certain" amount of time and exercise a "certain" amount of patience to see this through to a proper resolution. Proper in this case of course...
Appreciate the input. I was going to negotiate for an AGM replacement until they said that the battery checks out good. So that discussion never got off the ground.
To Trainlover, happy to hear they replaced your battery under warranty as that can be a battle. Best of luck to you. My experience with that has not been very good.
I completely understand all of that and I have no doubt the AGM solved your problem. So much so I called my service advisor earlier today to suggest we find a way to lobby for a deal to actually get an AMG installed, at least in part with assistance from Ford. I know that sounds crazy but you...
I do not disagree, but I remain stubborn in my conviction that this should be resolved by the dealership and not on my dime. Yes it is an inconvenience, for some more than others. But if everyone just replaces theirs with a non factory battery then Ford will be quite happy to divest itself from...
As I have posted numerous times before in response to similar issues regarding the hybrid's 12v battery, my problem persists. Only the mystery deepens and the solution remains elusive. It has now been 5 days that my "24 Lariat hybrid has been sitting in the service bay at my dealership, with no...
