  1. How the Maverick Ranks in Recalls (vs. Other Vehicles)

Yeah basically none of the major components were new. That was the only reason I chose to gamble on a new model. IMO covid didn't play a big part contributing to these recall issues. Production, yes.
  2. TURBO failures / problems???

The 2.0 Ecoboost engine is currently like the second or third generation. The old ones had problems with head gaskets but that was addressed. One of the reasons I bought a mav in the first place was because the drivetrain mechanicals were a proven platform. Have not heard about excessive...
  3. What is this? It's not stock or an option on any fords I have seen.

Well, they had a panel somewhere. OP should be able to trace the wires to see where they terminate. I'd bet there is a wire ending in a connector for a battery in the bed and another one either on top of the cap or leading out over a tonneau for a panel. It's a nice controller that was...
  4. Are maverick prices due to crash?

IMO there will be a backlash against the big screens replacing knobs and switches. The tesla crowd might love it but an awful lot of people like lower tech. I just bought a forester in part because of the relatively traditional controls (despite having quite a lot of tech) and seriously...
  5. Are maverick prices due to crash?

All the new models are like that. I just bought a 24 forester specifically because the 25's have a giant abortion of a screen in the middle of the dash. You have to look at a screen to operate it, you can adjust a knob or button by feel.
  6. Are maverick prices due to crash?

I never got anything like that mileage, either. Best of luck to you!
  7. Are maverick prices due to crash?

No doubt the diminishing resale issue is basically statistical regression from an artificial high. As was pointed out earlier in the thread, the mav came on the market with basically no competition in the segment, constrained supply from things like chips, new model hype, very low entry price...
  8. Are maverick prices due to crash?

Just traded away my mav and did OK on it. KBB and Carfax had it as trading higher than I was ever offered in trade by 3 different dealers even after some negotiating. KBB's average trade value dropped $1k in a week while I was shopping. I just read on another thread that Ford only got...
  9. Falken Wildpeak AT Tires off-road test

It's a practical vehicle if you have frequent use for a truck bed. My first impression was how well it handled - I came out of a mazda 3 which was a very nice handling car and the mav compared favorably. Those wildpeaks were on my short list for tires and it's nice to hear they impress.
  10. Question about restrictions after getting a spray-in bed liner

IIRC when I had rhinoliner done they just said to give it a day or two. Should be good to go by the weekend. When I picked it up it was dry to the touch. Incidentally, it was the best aftermarket thing I did to the truck. That stuff is practically impenetrable. I had a truck years ago...
  11. Maverick ordered but never delivered

Oh no doubt, but at some point you have to take responsibility for the things that happen to you or you turn in to one of those sad sack losers who always gets screwed over and never does anything but complain about it. He refuses to acknowledge that his dealer did anything wrong even...
  12. Maverick ordered but never delivered

Yet here you are posting walls of text about it. :ROFLMAO: If you didn't get regular email updates directly from Ford the order wasn't processed correctly, end of story. No confirmation emails or updates = something wasn't done correctly. Enjoy your maverick.
  13. Scratch ‘remover’ recommendations?

Thanks for the link, but I already have an apple charging station. 🤣 Seriously though, after you freeze it, then what? Chip it off the paint? This was no ordinary gum. It had melted, then dried and cooked in the hot sun for hours. There was a big blotch where it originally got stuck...
  14. What mods to your Maverick have increased fuel mileage?

This. One way to remove weight would be to get lighter wheels and tires or at least tires. You might be able to shave up to 5 lbs per wheel depending on what you have right now. It's not clear if the savings would ever pay itself back from the cost of wheels but certainly when the...
  15. Replacing third brake light and got a stuck crew. Any tips on how to remove it?

IIRC there was a recall on another ford model for water getting in there. Call the dealer - no reason for you to sweat it. It has 3/36 bumper to bumper for a reason.
  16. Might be time to sell.

Depends on what's most important to you. If you don't really need the vehicle and can make money on the deal, financially it's a no-brainer. You basically had a free rental vehicle for 27k miles. Sounds like the flex is the way to go for you if you don't need something with a truck bed...
  17. Farewell Maverick, it's been fun!

It's a shame, toyota seems to be losing it's edge on reliability. I'd like a 4runner someday but want no part of the new complex, tech heavy turbo/hybrid drivetrain. Makes you wonder if they truly understand what their customers really want. Ford is gonna squeeze every dollar out of the...
