So the 2.7 is probably not possible without major modifications since it's a v-6 but the 2.3 should be fine.
The interesting part is how much power you can wring out of it. The 2.3 was used in an italian sports car where they managed to get almost 400hp and 400 ft-lb of torque out of it...
I'd really rather have a reliable bluetooth connection. The good thing about a physical wired connection is that it's a sure thing - it's gonna work. The problem is 1) having to deal with a wire and 2) the connections eventually wear out.
On my old car I hooked a cheap little bluetooth...
So I did the radio update thing and it seemed to fix the dropped connection issues I was having with the bluetooth - for a while.
Lately it's been dropping again. At this point, the best I can say is that it reconnects somewhat faster and more reliably than before, but even that isn't a given...
The low end torque of the hybrid is supposed to be pretty good. The eco doesn't have much but it really thrives at higher revs. It's fun to pass at highway speeds because it's so responsive.
My calculations also don't take into account the fact that I accidentally used the max load weight...
I always forget there are modes. FX4 pissed me off because I didn't realize it meant sacrificing eco and sport mode. I've used slippery mode in the winter but it's hard to tell if it's actually doing anything. The absence of a major accident could be a hint that it helped. Or maybe not...
Seems to me that fuel content would be pretty important in a turbo engine.
Driving habits are important too - do you do a lot of short hop, stop and go stuff? If the engine doesn't ever get really heat soaked the fuel that blows by the rings doesn't evaporate from the oil.
That's perfect, thanks! The ones I bought were "loosies" and didn't have the face plate.
I hadn't given it much thought since my bed accessory wires turned out to be DOA. No point in installing outlets if there's no juice so the project has just been sitting.
Ah, that makes sense. I didn't know you were an electrician. In my mind it was just possible that you didn't actually know the difference between DC and AC. The internet is a big place.
It hinges on how the outlet is affixed to the cubby. The 12v outlets stick through the wall of...
Splice it in to what? The accessory wires are 12vdc not 110vac. You would have to mount an inverter back there for it to make sense but if you connect the inverter to the 12v accessory wires back there it's only able to handle 240 watts IIRC. If you need more than that, then you're...
The word "adequate" comes to mind when talking about the stock speakers. One of the only actual mods I did when I got my mav was to replace the front door speakers with some semi decent panasonic 3-ways. The difference in sound quality was immediately noticeable. I still wouldn't describe it...
Test drive one first. I find the mav reasonably comfortable for longer trips but everyone is different. It seems to like driving at highway speeds since that's pretty much where the turbo power band is. No problems passing at 70+mph. The ride might be a little busy compared to a bigger...
