This is the point I am trying to make with Wax. MOST buyers are not interested in these add ons at this price point. Dealers are notoriously bad at this stuff. Not picking on Tim or his team. That is just the reality. The dealers (like Galpin) are VERY good at it. And now a whole segment of...
This is a stupid argument. Do you work for Long McArthur? I understand how they got where they got. I am simply making an easy argument for selling MORE vehicles like that. I assure you that they are meeting profit margins, even if they lowered the price on this. Also, this kind of work does not...
Of course it does. But this isn't rocket science. Would Long McArthur like to sell ONE Maverick with $10k in add ons? Or would they like to sell TEN at $7K in add ons?
I am a service advisor. I know how they work. And the markup is coming mostly on the parts themselves, not the labor. This is all easy work. The labor is pretty minimal. As an example I have premium wheels and tires on my truck. A level kit. Full tint including the windshield. I have a $3000...
This is 100% valid. My negative comments were based solely on aesthetic preference. That said, not that people are talking about the actual cost, where it goes wrong for dealers who do this stuff (IMHO) is that they markup the work too much. Most dealers aren't getting huge price breaks on the...
If you think this is true then you have never sat in an F150. The cabin width and length are notably different. I can sit behind my 5'10" friend in his F150 and my knees don't come close to the back of his seat. If I sit behind my own seat position in the Maverick (i am 5'8) my knees touch the...
A Wrangler is also not a large vehicle. The Mav certainly isn't short. But it is in fact a small truck. Its not tiny. But it is significantly smaller than any full size truck and is now a fair bit smaller than most mid sized trucks.
I am a service advisor and this is the story of my life. The thing called consumer responsibility does not exist. The way some people react when you question them on some of the most basic things they should know or do as an owner is like you just slapped their wife/husband right in front of them
This looks excellent. If I had seen this wheel size/tire combo before I did mine I think this would be my choice too. I also like that tailgate panel. I may have to do the same. Any appreciable difficulty in installation?
Market dependent its going to get worse. Interest rates have been so high for so long that buyers are really stepping back. Add that to vehicles with stupid markups and buyers are finally wising up about the money they are spending.
I love these on my truck. I know some have said they are too bright. But being a cyclist and also recognizing how shitty most drivers are I am happy to have bulbs that make it easy to see me
I appreciate the effort, but those stripes and wheel choice are questionable. The stripe thing, in 2023 really needs to be reconsidered. I know certain parts of the country these are more popular. But it is a pretty dated idea in the car world.
I don't have a hybrid, but I've thought about this with how easily some of these are being totaled. And just this past freeway I was almost rear ended by an old POS F150 that clearly didn't see traffic had come to a complete stop. I would hate to spend that much more money, but if mine gets...
I used Soundskinz on mine at the recommendation of one of the MotorTrend journos. I bought from Amazon. I think I bought the smaller of the two rolls you can get. That was just enough for all 4 doors and just a little left over.
This obviously looks better, and at least you were aware of not going crazy with coating it. But, if this ends up failing for any reason the dealer is going to have to deny a warranty claim. If they turn in a clearly painted part they would be back debited for that warranty repair.
