Don't do that either. I mean you can if they allow it obviously. I know the car business has earned a bad reputation. But, generally speaking an auto service shop has 2 ways of making money. Parts and labor. The amount of money that they make on oil change parts is not a lot. But why would you...
Again, I am not picking on you, but you are old enough to understand that opinions do not trump fact. I know nothing about Costco oil, so I am not making an argument either way. But on their oil will be printed the certification spec that it meets. If it is not on par with, or exceeding Ford's...
There is no ambiguity here my dude. If the manual says the oil must meet spec ABCD, and you buy oil that says it meets or exceeds spec ABCD then that is the correct oil. The manual is not unclear about that. People's opinion's do not matter. I do this for a living. You are either using the...
What is the correct oil is not up for debate. There is a spec published by Ford. Any oil that meets or exceeds that spec is the correct oil. And I did not mention more expensive being better, so I am not sure who you are referencing here. People complicate this subject so much it is ridiculous.
Why would you spend that effort to call Ford and not just buy the easily correct oil for the car? you spent $30 ish thousand dollars on the car. You can't afford the correct oil? Cheaping out on stuff like this is mind boggling to me
I am a service advisor at a luxury European brand. I can tell you for a fact getting qualified technicians is getting increasingly difficult. We pay big numbers and offer signing bonuses and it is still a real struggle. We are also in a major market. Your location says a corn field, so combine...
I am a nearly lifetime service advisor, and worked for Lincoln. I can tell you that your advisor is wrong. Period. If you have an in warranty engine related failure and no service records at the dealer they are going to ask for the records for where the services were done. When they get those...
I would love to revisit the stock system at a 15-20 level audio. I cannot imagine that actually sounds remotely "good" But that kind of thing is very user dependent.
Your dealer is wrong about both the filter and the oil. You MUST use Ford approved filter and oil during the warranty period. If you are not buying them from the dealer then you better keep detailed records and receipt in case of engine related failures.
It is clearly stated on the window sticker. You can always ask before buying. And with Fords sold in the US, there are only 3 options of manufacture location IIRC. The US, Mexico, and Canada.
I wouldn't rely on side of the road radar machines. If you load Waze on your phone for navigation it will use the phones GPS and show you your actual speed. When I do that I am within 1 mph on my truck at 70mph
That has to be close to a record! LOL. I ordered mine when there were more constraints, but it took 11 months almost to the day. And I live in AZ so transport was minimal compared to many.
