We had to put the groceries on the back seat (why I wish the seat back folded down) until I got my divider built. Stores the grocery totes and cooler bag, easily removable for bed use.
Traded our 2015 Cmax with 96K for the Maverick. One of the most trouble-free cars we've had. The other one was the 2016 phev Cmax we sold to buy the Maverick. Since retiring last September, we no longer needed 2 daily drivers...saved on insurance, taxes, and got more garage space. 😉
Ours had a schedule ship date of 4/2/22...arrival estimate was the week of 4/25. Arrived at Wiscasset on 4/22. I'd say you have a shot at getting it by July 1st!
So sometimes you get a warning message complete with chime in the center screen when you shut off the vehicle...but not always.
After a little testing I discovered yet another way the Maverick is trying to be smart.
Opened a rear door to throw my jacket on the rear seat. Got in and drove away...
I give the engineering group a lot of credit for the programming that went into creating the different modes.
I can only imagine a room with white board and colored markers where the group sat around thinking "What can we make this vehicle do?"
The section in the owner's manual is pretty general in it's description of using the drive control modes. I don't know any Ford engineers to ask, but I'm curious as to what are the various systems doing when a certain mode is selected.
For example: Eco - more economical driving. Sure. But what...
That's why I only used 2"x6" pieces for the ends where they fit in the slots in the truck bed. The main part of the divider is 3/8" plywood...front is 8" high x 48" wide...back is 16" high by 48" wide. The dividers are some pieces of 3/4" pine that was ripped to 2 1/4" wide. It doesn't weigh all...
In addition to holding the totes, including the insulated one for cold stuff, it prevents them from sliding forward. I thought the spray in bedliner would be rougher than it is.
I threw together a divider to make a "trunk" for grocery shopping using some wood I had leftover from some other projects. Still needs some paint, maybe some hooks as well.
I don't have a problem with my wife changing the seat, mirror, etc. settings for her, but she's always apologetic about it. She's driven the Mav twice in the last 3 wks. we've had it.
She says she's going to get brave and do a solo at some point...
"At about 3 corrections in and no throttle or brake input a message came on the dash and said trailer sway detected and the truck applied the brakes and corrected the sway. I found that interesting."
Was that truck brakes or trailer brakes...I'm assuming truck since there's no tow package...
