It's not "just" the cold weather. We don't get below freezing here in the desert and the vehicle still continues to drain when it should be supposedly turned off.
We didn't buy a plug in hybrid. This problem has gone on far too long. Hopefully people considering spending their hard earned money take into account Ford's lack of an actual working fix to this problem.
Are the sensors programmed by the same folks at Ford that programmed the charging circuit parameters and can't seem to get the car to shut down when you turn it off do the battery continues to discharge rather rapidly? Yeah, no thanks, I'll just watch the odometer.
We are nearing our third oil change and dealer services called for by the manual at 15,000 miles. First one was at 5,000, the second at 10,000 miles.
This is what the so-called oil life "monitor" claims:
The link you posted still works. You need to put in your VIN number and have an empty USB flash drive formatted as their instruction will tell you. Then you download the update from that site to the flash drive. It will create an update drive. The process to download and create the drive takes...
My read on the recommended service intervals puts us squarely in the "every 5,000 mile range" as our driving is in extended periods of 100F+ summer months, driving over 6,000 to sometimes 10,000 foot mountain passes that are found out west, and a lot of local stop and go driving in summer heat...
Just looking at your USB cable I can absolutely guarantee that is where the problem lays. It looks like you aren't using a name brand cable designed for high speed data transfer. Those colorful round cables like your red one are pretty but also something that rhymes with pretty. Not only are...
I would suggest getting the dealer to replace the battery and get them to put on the service record that you complained of it going into deep sleep. This way when Ford is potentially required to recall all models that experienced deep sleep to make the actual fixes needed to the vehicle to...
I doubt that is false since Ford has not yet produced a promised fix to prevent the chronic undercharging and discharging that happens constantly when the vehicle should be off. Did your repair receipt state specifically what your dealership did that you claim "fixed" your's?
I wish they would fire the design team and use that money to hire some competent engineers to solve real problems like the deep sleep issue that they keep kicking the can down the road on.
