I understand that road miles are much easier on an engine than city miles, so you should be good. Personally, I would change the oil now and at 3k miles, change again. Reason, turbos need lubrication and oil is inexpensive in comparison. Safe travels.

Did Ford fix the design flaw or only admitting to the years? Really matters to me, I have a 2016 Escape Tit max loaded w/ engine from Germany…great road car…..have been tortured debating trading for a Maverick (CG 2.0/Awd, Lux, 360, tow w/ alloy wheels). One car family. Thanks!

I’m impressed, awd performed great, probably will need recovery mats cause it will dig it’s self in; and good to know normal drive is solid, the other modes are for fun.

There is a lot of good info re this post., I change oil every 3k, use 91 octane and try to keep the revs up. So far, at 50k, the engine runs great.

Excellent! The extended warranty I have on my Escape excludes damage to the exhaust manifold. The fine print states that any part that is damaged caused by a non covered part would not be covered either….So, I would rather pay the money to reduce the potential problem (if their excluding it...

I really like the idea of keeping temps down This is the first time I will have owned a vehicle with a turbo. Having done some research, the tow package will keep engine and trans temps down, but turbo generated heat is not directly impacted…thus need for a larger intercooler. Once installed...

Cool…I have read heat is an issue with the Ecoboost, which is why I have gone with the 2.0 XLT tow package. Look forward to your updates and thankful your doing them. Off the subject, but what are your thoughts on the front bumper?
