  1. 2025+ Maverick, is TPMS necessary?

To the OP's question no they are not necessary but they do provide usable information in real time.
  2. 2025+ Maverick, is TPMS necessary?

If you can afford to swap out the rims and/or change tires you can afford $5 for a tpms service kit or $25 - $100 for a new set of 4 of sensors. Prices assume USD.
  3. Trailering 1,000 miles advice needed.

Survey says WRONG! Basic physics, the relationship between weight and braking distance is the braking distance approximately increases with the square of the vehicle's weight (and the square of its speed). In the most simple example, if you double the weight of a vehicle, you'll need...
  4. Trailering 1,000 miles advice needed.

Have you ever actually towed anything with your Maverick truck? An F150 is overkill here, if it is all you have then that is what you use type of tool in this case. I can't say I've driven newer F150s to tow with but a Maverick is by far the easiest vehicle I've ever driven to tow things with. I...
  5. Trailering 1,000 miles advice needed.

Readers Digest version of tow/haul mode in Fords. A. It lowers the engine gearing for more torque B. It engages engine braking and slows down your truck to prevent potentially overheating the brakes Example, going up a hill the tranny will be constantly seeking gears without it engaged, with it...
  6. 2022 Ecoboost Transmission Leaks + Acceration Lag @ 46,000 (Photos attached)

Depends how low the fluid level has been while you were driving it. Unless it caused internal damage which sounds unlikely the long term should be nil once they patch up the leaks. What you should make note of is the condition of the fluid and check it on a regular basis like every 15k or 20k...
  7. DIYs and HACKs for your Maverick

Did the same but with a 4 x 6 horse stall mat from tractor supply. Difference is the mats are thicker than that Costco one. I also did the tailgate with it. Used black automotive fastners to hold it in place.
  8. trailer hitch recommendation

Another thing related to towing you should probably have just in case is a 2 inch receiver D-shackle and rope. If you ever have to tow or get stuck and need someone to pull you out having those will make things much easier. You can easily put thern under or behind the back seats.
  9. trailer hitch recommendation

Couple of things that are important. If you don't get a locking hitch pin avoid hitch pins with the cotter pin that snaps around the outside. Those can and will pop off and the next thing you know the hitch receiver and trailer tongue are sparking along the ground and you learn a hard lesson of...
  10. trailer hitch recommendation

Same here and I've used multiple sized utility trailers, tow dollys, dumper trailers and even a towable wood chipper with the same receiver. If for some reason it is too low you just reverse the ball and it is like having a straight hitch. It's not rocket science.
  11. Article: Most Over-Rated Vehicles: Maverick & Santa Cruz

My comment was directed at your first sentence about truck guys not getting it not the rest of the comment. Be honest my comment was more leap before you look response without fully processing the rest of what you wrote. But yeah we are in agreement here otherwise.
  12. Maverick 4k - Long Term Towing

As others have stated the curb weight of your trailer will determine how small of a truck you will need. If you are set on a Maverick get the 4k tow package. Doing what you plan to do in a tiny tow trailer is going to be a nightmare with 2 people. Short trips is one thing but months on end is...
  13. Cali shifting to 15% ethanol in gas

As far as real world people like myself are concerned about the following. I am no expert nor have I done any calculations to determine what the answer is. First besides the obvious issues of ethanol concerning water being bad for rubber gaskets, it is also corrosive to aluminum. To be fair all...
  14. Cali shifting to 15% ethanol in gas

It doesn't mean your ignition timing and fuel map in the ECU are also correct. The more ethanol in the mix the more aggressive the ignition timing can be because of ethanol's ability to suppress detonation.
  15. 2022 XL Ecoboost almost 4 year review

I did but to repeat the product brand is liqui moly. I should add the product name is dijectron it is specifically a liquid based gasoline direct injection cleaner. In your case unless you have other vehicles that have a gdi engine you shouldn't have this problem on a 2.5l hybrid.
  16. 2022 XL Ecoboost almost 4 year review

I am a ride it until the wheels come off type of owner so that is plan or at least until 2031 when the warranty is up. That also assumes something better and/or cheaper doesn't come to market by then. If anything I'll continue to keep modding the truck in ways that shouldn't affect the...
  17. Article: Most Over-Rated Vehicles: Maverick & Santa Cruz

That's a crock of sh!t to begin with. This truck can handle anything outside the towing limits any mid size truck can do and with much better MPG. They make for good kid haulers too with an oversized trunk once you add the tonneau cover since they drive and handle more like a car than a truck...
  18. 2022 XL Ecoboost almost 4 year review

Another thing to mention is this truck and probably the hybrids also hold their depreciation values well. I recently got a trade in offer for this truck at 48k miles couple of months back for around $20k. This truck should still be worth that if quoted today. That's great if you trade up but...
  19. I took the Maverick owners survey

    Isn't that considered shoplifting?
  20. Ethanol free gas worth it?

In my experience with small engines, whenever I've used ethanol free gas the engines specifically weedeaters lose power don't fire up easily most likely due to how they are tuned out of the factory. Mowers not so much but the performance seems to suffer with ethanol free without retuning the...
