To buy a custom degoogled phone, vendors are going to take you to the cleaners on the price. Best to have someone you know set up your existing phone if can be done or buy a newer phone and make sure it supports the os like lineageOS for example and works on whatever network you want to use...
  2. How To set up Android Auto on a degoogled android phone

Android is also open source. There is a couple of reasons first due to bloat and battery usage of these apps, 2 maybe not all are needed in one's case, 3 privacy issues with google knowing everything you do on that phone because their apps are sending information back to google you don't want...
  3. How To set up Android Auto on a degoogled android phone

If it works with AA great. I don't know much about it. I prefer osmand~ but any offline mapping app that integrates with AA is applicable here. osmand~ doesn't require root either and is also free. There are pay versions of it too but the fdroid build is full featured and AA capable.
  4. How To set up Android Auto on a degoogled android phone

An alternate method is to use Gapps instead. on your degoogled phone. This will work with or without root access. Gapps are just the individual google apps and can be installed on an app by app basis though they usually come in packages. The 2 current packages still being maintained I know...
  5. No FX4 on AWD Hybrid?

No, you'd be better off with a Tremor build unless it's out of your price range for that type of off roading. Unless the majority of driving is in the city you aren't going to save as much on gas as you think with a hybrid.

  8. Transmission Fluid Change Theory

Horse here is some water.... https://www.atlanticlubes.com/blog/the-non-newtonian-characteristics-of-automatic-transmission-fluids/ In your case you probably want to do the Brookfield method mentioned there since it should be easier to do without lab equipment.
  9. Transmission Fluid Change Theory

You missed the trick, I said motor oil not transmission. The key point is both have viscosities. so the next question is: Does viscosity of transmission oil degrade over time at the shear rate you want to measure it at aka operating temperature?
  10. Transmission Fluid Change Theory

Short answer maybe. You need to ask the right question which is: Is motor oil a Newtonian fluid? That is a trick question. More importantly what is a Newtonian fluid? Simply it is any fluids that have a linear relation between force applied on it and flow rate. Conversely non-Newtonian fluids...
  11. Transmission Fluid Change Theory

To expand this is just a different way to state Peano's axioms. The doggie treat is the natural number, I am the successor function and the dog is treat counter. The fundamental rule of addition. Give me a treat feed the dog, the addition is how many treats did I feed the dog not how I feed the...

120k under normal conditions for 2.0L ecoboost. That is for a 22 model.

Easy I give the dog one, it knows I have the other and it won't leave me alone till I give it the second treat.
  14. Oil Change DIY - any negatives regarding warranty?

    (y) That's the way to do it. Looks like I am eating a little humble on documenting a multipoint inspection. One thing I will recommend doing as a DIY maintenance practice is running a gdi cleaner every 10k or so miles if one has an 2.0L ecoboost made between 2022 - 2024. I can personally attest...
  15. Prices on oil changes at dealer or mechanic shop

Wherever you go around here they all charge $19.95 for a tire rotation. Oil depends usually $60 for a change including oil and filter. At the dealer with coupons I get either from them directly or from Ford through them I pay $60 for the oil, multipoint inspection and tire rotation.
  16. Transmission Fluid Change Theory

Not really having to pay an extra $20 to check the fluid every 30k during a multipoint inspection is even cheaper than spending $200 per flush.

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/transmission-fluid-check-and-service-with-torque-specs-per-the-service-manual.34319/ If you want to spin your wheels go prove 1 + 1 = 2. It took Bertrand Russell and Alfred Whitehead only 362 pages to do so in their book Principia Mathematica...
  18. Oil Change DIY - any negatives regarding warranty?

Agree but unless you are a thumb sucker you should be able to rtfm the service manual or find the correct information elsewhere to do it yourself. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/transmission-fluid-check-and-service-with-torque-specs-per-the-service-manual.34319/ In my case I...
  19. Oil Change DIY - any negatives regarding warranty?

Only if greasing them was on the service schedule which is not but inspecting the suspension system is as far as general maintenance is. If you don't have your multipoint inspections on file then maybe if not Ford's policy the dealer themselves.
