Finally got my mav back from my new installer. Few things weāre going to do. Line out converters will be replaced with something better. RCAās are low quality so those will be replaced as well. Amp ground wire is too close to RCAās which could be introducing noise to the system, so that will be...
I donāt think I need a full blown dsp, cleaning up the factory signal is all Iām after. For reference, my dads truck is a 06 dodge with the factory infinity system and a pioneer head unit. Itās noticeably cleaner and well balanced compared to my maverick. If I could get it to sound like that...
Huh, interesting. I wonder why they used LOCās then. Iām looking at the amp manual and see that it does in fact accept high level inputs. I donāt expect a dsp to solve my alternator noise issue, but based on my limited knowledge I thought it would help the clarity of music. Pretty much every...
The amp power wire is ran by itself down the drivers side, and the rcaās and amp outputs are ran down the passenger side, so I donāt think itās that. Iām not sure where theyāre getting the turn in signal, but right now my amp turns on if I just open my doors (ignition off). I do want to change...
No offense taken! Prior to getting my maverick I had no experience with car audio other than swapping speakers. It always sounded like this, so I donāt anything anything has changed since the install. Nothing is grounded to the battery. The amp is mounted behind the back seat on the passenger...
In early March I had a local shop install a 5 channel amp, new speakers and a 10ā sub in my ā22 XL. They recommended line out converters instead of a dsp but now Iām second guessing that decision and looking to get rid of the locās and get a dsp. While itās a large improvement over stock in...
Nothing driving down the road. Just turning slowly into a driveway or turning sharp in a parking lot. I havenāt checked the top hats yet, mainly because Iām running camber bolts and Iām afraid I may need to get another alignment after I take it all apart. I do have them marked though so...
I typically reuse everything as well, just struck me as odd that it says to replace hardware. My Jeep suspension has been apart and back together many times and never replaced any hardware. Thatās what my buddy said, just a money grab from ford haha.
A little off topic but thought it might be relevant. Are you guys re-using the nuts and bolts for the suspension or did you get new hardware when you installed the springs? I recently came across the maverick service manual and itās saying to discard the nuts and bolts when disassembling the...
This is my front passenger spring with the front end jacked up and wheel off. Thereās definitely contact. Couldnāt get it in the pic but on the very top coil there were a few small flakes of paint that actually chipped off the spring. I have a gopro and plan on putting it under there, Hopefully...
On my H&R super sports there are 3-4 coils at the top of the spring that are touching each other at ride height. I think itās very possible that weāre just hearing the springs shifting around.
