That's interesting. Yesterday, at a store, I did my usual hit the lock button on my way out the door and then closed it. Mav double honked to let me know the key was still in the truck. It'd fallen out of my sweats pocket...
This is the way my last 4 Fords have acted so I'm at a loss how...
I have a Mav hybrid so I don't have auto start/stop like that, but I did on my previous Escape. I found it disconcerting that when it would shut off the wheel would jerk a bit if it wasn't at 12:00. But not worth getting my panties in a bunch over it.
Good point. While I periodically see lines, I've never seen them being used, but the lines do exist. Like you, I mostly drive in areas covered by the MD State Police and the Frederick Sheriffs.
I don't know of any agency that users VASCAR. It's all radar for moving cars and LIDAR (laser) while the cop is stationary (that's not saying they don't use radar while stationary).
Scraping your rim is a bigger risk than alignment. If you think of the stresses merely driving places on the all the front end components, parking ain't nothing.
My last one was somewhere around 2010 with the MD trooper writing me for 84 in a 65 while going down a big hill. Luckily, I still had a VA license at the time so there weren't any points. While I've been stopped 4 or 5 times since then, no tickets. No points since like 1990.
Escort pretty much eliminated that in newer firmware. While K can be turned off in the Escort app, I'd never do that because while the MD State police use KA and laser, the local departments use K all the time...and I drive a lot in MD.
Yeah, I have an Escort Max in both in my Mav and in my Mustang. I speed. Lots. I got pulled over the first weekend I had my Mav (no ticket), because I wasn't used to scanning in that vehicle and the cop snuck up behind me. In PA, only the state police are allowed to use radar so obviously...
