Actually... got good news! He called me a week or so ago and confirmed a production date mid-march.

Yes... that $2k part was non-negotiable. But the dealer was reasonable with the rest... I think it was a couple hundred $ for other fees (fuel, licencing etc)
Either they have some super sophisticated algorithm to select based on configuration, shipping distance, bottom line profit.... or its a giant bin full of the orders and they just grab one and start working....
I did get the a scheduled call as well.... and had been tracking it on the Ford.com, but it had only been shown as "ordered confirmed". The US tracking now forwards to a non-existing Canadian tracking site. Ford.ca 1-800 contact could only see "ordered confirmed". So the dealer is my only...

Just received a call from my dealer..... waited for the "can you drop something from your order" conversation, but instead it was "Your maverick is now confirmed for build 2nd week of March". Was NOT expecting that! :)
This particular issue is becoming a bigger concern for me, especially since Ford does not seem to be acknowledging or addressing it. Lots of people experiencing this, lots of people guessing whats wrong and how to fix.
Maybe buying a 1st year model was not a good idea....
Well the Ford.ca vehicle tracking link has been dead almost a week now. Going to the US link kicks back to the Canadian URL (which doesn't work). I emailed Ford Canada, and they did respond... basically saying the order is processing with no build date and said I should inquire with the dealer...
Just an FYI for those who don't have it.... Ford has set up a Ford.ca VIN tracking site. I was tracking my VIN on the US site, but now it re-directs to here;

I absolutely need this truck, its replacing an elderly van. Its affordable. Its a bridge to a BEV to me (environmentally responsible).

At my initial order, mudflaps were unavailable... so I removed that. Then Spray-in bed liner was the constraint. There's been lots of bits and pieces that have held up production of specific orders. I thought about it a bit, and decided that I will just roll with it and when it gets here, it...
My experience has been 50/50.... it seems to work sometimes during the day, sometimes it just bounces back to the Order/VIN form entry.
Maybe they run updates as they get data from the factories? Seems it should all be real time... but who knows?
