This is likely why they are prepared to do 5 weeks of production scheduling this week... build the non-hybrids until there was a big window after OKTB. Why build if you can't ship?
The Maverick is a fairly low margin produce. You might get some flexibility if its loaded to the hilt with options. Mine was mostly bare bones XL, and I got it for MSRP + taxes/registration/tank fillup (~$180)
You'd better order soon.... Ford has said they will be closing the books on '22...
I checked with my dealer a couple weeks ago and there was no change to my order, made at the beginning of July. XL hybrid with a spray in bed (The only thing I think might be limiting)
I could.... I did have a set of options on the XL I wanted (including the spray liner). Also has to be Area 51 as per SO (not debateable 🙂). I like my config and I don't mind waiting a while longer, but it would be nice to get better tracking on where its at.
Things will probably improve in...
I've been trying to find the current list of productions restraints. Mine was spray-in bed liner.... I can't get a direct read on the production status for my vehicle because its Canada (and I don't want to contact the dealer if its still a constraint). Is this list updated somewhere?
cheers!
So far its been keep them until they don't fit my purpose, or major repairs become more frequent and expensive. Current ride is 19yo, and Maverick is replacing it, I could continue to put $$ into it, it runs good, very little rust, but it just feels like the right time to change.
Ummm... he didn't say he existed 30 years ago, he looks like he's maybe in his 30's? Unlikely to have been driving these trucks 30 years ago. Remember, it is possible to learn about things that happened before you are born.
If you have the luxury of time... this is the best approach. Me, I need a replacement and I don't want to be in a panic of needing a vehicle ASAP because my current (very old) ride has failed or needs significant repairs. That could taint negotiations!
Cheers! I was considering the Lightning as well... but its so expensive and batteries are really in their infancy in terms of max range, charging speeds etc. Solid state batteries do look like a game changer once they can be manufactured at scale.
The old marketing axiom is "The right product for the right person at the right time".
For me, Ford has nailed this. A super fuel efficient hybrid truck until it can be replaced with a super efficient solid state EV truck.
Thats the way I read it too.
Meh... I wanted the factory spray-in, so I'll wait. I'm sure it can't take that long to get the supply line for a liquid spray going (its not like a part that needs to be manufactured).
Based on the Area 51 on the Bronco at the lot, my SO pronounced it cool/retro....and she's got like a PHD in colour or something. Her stamp of approval on that was critical... I like it too. Its wierd, both Area 51 and Cactus Gray seem to look so different in changing lighting conditions...
