Seems to me you coulda printed a little tab to take 2 screws and then just screwed in a $5 trash can from ikea. Surely wouldn’t take as long, be more ship able, and allow a multitude of items to be screwed onto it. edit, didn’t read all the other replies. DOH!

Could also be from a axle shaft seal on the output of the transmission, doesn’t take too much to knick a seal, or knock the tension spring off the seal. good luck, keep us informed of what/how it gets sorted.
