Nice ride, its a refined upmarket Escape. I researched them prior to ordering a Maverick. But much more money, especially if you load on the option packages.
First, glad you were saved by the auto-start/stop!
I have a part-time job driving a bus and see alot of inattentive drivers (texting?) every day. And also those that are too self-important to obey a stoplight or other traffic laws (get out of my way I'm coming through 'cause I'm special)...
I agree with OP wholeheartedly. I'm glad there's choices for us here in the USA.
Now we just need to get the EcoBoost, Hybrid and trim-level folks to be slightly more open-minded. I read posts where folks state their trim-level or drivetrain is really the only correct answer because yada...
I'll hazard a guess the folks asking the question meant to say "is that a Hybrid?".
Many folks who don't follow the automotive scene are confused about all the different types of electric enhancements in some new vehicles. We've basically got Hybrids, Plug-in Hybrids and fully Electric drive...
It all depends on where gas prices are in the future. Which drivetrain is worth more could flip/flop either way depending on if gas prices come down or continue to rise.
Initial thoughts are the review was a bit harsh (oh boo-hoo, his skis had to go in bed diagonally). They note its lower price but then nitpick it when comparing it to vehicles that cost $10K+ or more.
I think their bias is influenced from constantly getting to drive the latest wiz-bang...
Great article and kudos to Tyve! Seems the Maverick is becoming a tinker's paradise. Maybe it will become the next Fox-body Mustang or Focus/Fiesta where some owners go bonkers.
Only now you need an understanding of Forscan (and maybe a laptop) in addition to wrenches and other tools to...
I've read some posts about Hybrids not getting expected fuel economy. While cold weather and winter fuel blends negatively affect MPG, it seems learning how to effectively use the Hybrid system and regenerative braking are key in improving overall efficiency.
This detailed video explains how...
Thanks to both of you for the write-up!
While I'm not as tall as either of you (5' 11"), I have wide shoulders, hips and big thighs. I did have a chance to test drive a XLT Mav before ordering and immediately decided to order a Lariat w/Lux Pkg.
One question: is there any...
Since Ford management has mentioned the Maverick could become its own sub-brand, I think they're saving the Ranchero name for some special Maverick trim level.
You know "Hey stud, buy the Maverick Ranchero Edition and bang you boss's wife!"
Congrats on your Lariat Hybrid!
Let us know how you like it after you get some miles on it. Many of us are interested in your MPGs, hybrid/eCVT drivetrain drivability, noise levels, etc.
Saw this segment on MotorWeek and thought of a few MTC members needing to replace their cracked windshield, etc. I do NOT know if the Mavericks camera(s) will need to be re-calibrated but thought I'd post just in case. And many folks have other vehicles that have high-tech features like...
Thanks for the comprehensive comparison!
Its interesting to see what stands out as you saw them side by side. Personally I like the Mav's traditional exterior styling more, but I'm sure there are folks with alternate viewpoints.
While the SC's interior looks nicer, I plan on "working" my...
Good idea! If you put somethings in the netting perhaps you could also items between the filled netting and the tailgate (ie like groceries, etc).
I imagine you can install the bar almost anywhere in the bed, did you mount it within the Flexbed slots for the wood planks or ???
What did the...
Ordered Hybrid Lariat w/Lux Pkg end of October. Probably won't see it until late Spring or Summer. I still haven't seen one in the wild yet, but did get a chance to test drive a XLT w/Lux Pkg 2.0 AWD prior to ordering.
Heck, if someone organizes a Chicagoland Maverick Meet&Greet when it gets...
I agree, the OPs statement that its "old" folks complaining isn't correct. There's complainers in all age groups on this forum.
I think the crankiness of some posters (all ages) is a reflection of what we're ALL currently living through (ie 2 year pandemic, supply chain issues, some lost jobs...
