It's great that they honored the original quote.
Just wondering if your Farm Bureau membership had to be in effect at the time you placed the order. Might be a FoMoCo thing, not the dealership.
Dealers taking a beating? Highly unlikely. Here's why:
1. New car sales are only a fraction of the profit at a dealership.
2. The real money is in dealer added options, ESPs, warranties, financing, parts and service.
3. Invoice means nothing. That's not how much the dealer buys the vehicles...
As much as I would like to think otherwise, FoMoCo will do absolutely nothing to protect customers from unethical dealers. Why should they? They will sell every vehicle they make and the Ford execs, employees and stockholders are happy. Nothing else matters.
Maybe some severe adverse action by...
Yes, this is the epicenter of the Maverick universe. We specialize in recreational complaining, disseminating information (some of it accurate), and most of all, comparing notes on slimy, unethical car salesmen, sales managers, finance guys, general managers and owners of dealerships.
Enjoy...
This is a disturbing (and quite believable) assessment of the car business straight from the horse's mouth.
Like I keep saying, it's all based on deception and shell games. It's their business model.
The dealers can save a ton of money due to lower floor plan and advertising costs. The vast majority of their profit is from parts, service and used vehicles.
We can research what's available and order online. The dealerships can always lay off the unneeded, obsolete sales people. Walmart is...
Might be worth the effort, but highly unlikely.
We have yet to hear that FoMoCo actually sanctions dealers for unethical practices. At the dealership level, anything goes.
Yes, we all know that a few dealers are selling hundreds of customer ordered Mavericks at discounted prices. None of these vehicles are being sold at a loss. The invoice price means nothing.
No Ford dealer will go out of business due to this. New car sales account for a relatively small...
Yes, and according to the Gary Yeomans Ford - Daytona Beach website, it appears that the salesman and sales manager are still employed there. Business as usual...
I suspect FoMoCo will take no action against the dealer. Might be a waste of time to contact them.
In their view, the dealer owes the OP nothing. The GM will likely admit to nothing. At the dealership level, it's all deception and shell games. It's their business model.
That's right. It could be "damaged in transit" as reported by a member of the MTC in Florida. Hopefully, you're not dealing with Gary Yeomans Ford - Daytona Beach.
We keep reading about that, but I'm not sure it's ever enforced.
I suspect that the slimy car dealerships are not afraid of the big bad wolf and it will be slimy business as usual.
If anyone has specific knowledge of FoMoCo spanking the hand of a dealer, many of us would be interested in...
You're preaching to the choir.
I don't disagree with anything you've said, but it's obvious that FoMoCo doesn't care what you and I think. They make the "rules" and they're holding virtually all of the cards.
Your cause is noble, but your efforts will be futile.
