  1. NEWBIE QUESTION ABOUT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS

    Welcome to the 1990s.
  2. Is there a setting to keep eco drive mode on everytime you start the truck?

Why do Toyota hybrids stay in sport / eco / normal? Eco on the Mav doesn't mess with stability or traction control - slippery mode might? Slippery sure kills the brakes. Maybe it is modes besides eco that is why Ford doesn't allow memory. Still lame. Should allow default to be normal or eco...
  3. Official: Scout EV Pickup & SUV debut w/ Gas Range Extender, 4x4, BOF, Lockers, Sway Bar Disconnect -- All Specs, Wallpapers, Video

One of the main reasons I like / buy hybrids and PHEV/EV, is the gas savings. High priced vehicles just aren't worth it to me and no amount of fuel savings ever pays off. You can buy a cheaper, more economical vehicle or a used gas guzzling off-road vehicle that is way more capable - or both...
  4. Maxzina-Maverick Hood Vent Available Now!

However, a majority seem to agree on this one.
  5. Accurate oil info from a real professional... be prepared tobe schooled!

All I see is click bait video titles. Views, click-throughs, etc for money. No different than any other "influencer", but nothing worth watching IMO.
  6. Accurate oil info from a real professional... be prepared tobe schooled!

A standard filter can make it 10k miles (or whatever the OLM is telling you is your OCI). Also that video seemed to focus on tarnish a lot. Maybe a stuck ring(s)? What about actual wear? Was the engine that ran on conventional out of spec? Burning oil? etc? Who here is going to keep their...
  7. Accurate oil info from a real professional... be prepared tobe schooled!

Nope. Modern engines are highly unlikely to clog a filter. There are also high capacity filters available, for those that worry. If this is the "info" those videos provide, that's all I need to know.
  8. 2.0 engine blew up. Now what

Ok, so it was tuned. But not when engine go boom. Try and get it warrantied, but anyone who tunes their vehicle should know of the risks they are taking. There's always a chance the dealer won't care / look closely if they want the warranty work...
  9. Battery saver mode

That is still drawing power, though.
  10. Deal alert - Hankook Dynapro AT2 235/75r17

These must be discontinued / closeout... Hankook Dynapro AT2 $129.35/tire at TireRack plus $80 rebate $115 at Amazon (rebate may still apply? - double check) Jump on this if you need tires and want a bit larger than OEM (30.9" d vs 28.5") - I do believe they rub w/o a lift, though. 34 lbs -...
  11. Day 1: Time to get to work

You've already used your truck more than the "built rigs" do!
  12. White Wheels from Bronco Sport Heritage + White Letter Tires installed on Maverick Lariat

100% Dirt covered brake dust is my preferred wheel color. (generally some sort of gray is close enough for me)
  13. Tremor MPG after lift kit

    Confirmation bias FTW!
  14. Say you had the cash to buy a Maverick outright and not have to make payments.

Agreed - all the discussion on cash vs loan and interest rates, assumes that it is cash in the bank / savings / CDs and not in retirement accounts. And I'd go so far to say that if you haven't been maxing out your retirement accounts (Roth at a minimum, plus your other deferred options), maybe...
  15. Say you had the cash to buy a Maverick outright and not have to make payments.

Nope - b/c I am a cheap-ass, I was able to pay cash for my Mav. I wouldn't want a more expensive vehicle - I prefer early retirement instead. Bogleheads - the forum where millionaires tout the longevity of their 1993 Camrys. Like any forum, don't take all their advice to heart.
  16. Say you had the cash to buy a Maverick outright and not have to make payments.

VTSAX* has returned 36% over the same timeline, dividends reinvested. *Vanguard Total Stock Market. No advisor needed. I recommend Bogleheads forum for the financially curious here. The poster that mentioned his great gamble on Nvidia and Apple needs to think about diversifying! And people...
  17. Still cant get anyone in nc to cut spare key

^ From this thread: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/key-cutting-for-keyfobs.46829/ I bought: Strattec 5923293 HU101 transponder key. It will start the truck and unlock it (just not via fob button). And can be DIY programmed.
  18. What I Miss on My New Mav

I have this and with how often it messes up the speed limit, I sure wouldn't want to rely on my vehicle changing the speed by itself!!! It is also never 100% accurate in Google Maps (GPS / tagging) - so even with Ford Blue cruise I wouldn't trust it. Plus construction areas, etc. A bit ironic...
  19. Falken Wildpeak AT Tires off-road test

The A/T trails are a good, solid tire, with lots of great reviews. I think I'll go with a competitor for lighter weight (higher hybrid MPG), though, or the best price, which would help offset mpg loss... Stock 225/65r17 sizes: Falken Wildpeak A/T trail -- 30 lbs Nokian Outpost APT -- 29.8 lbs...
