I did check and clean the filter mount. I should have taken a picture too.. Kind of freaked me out when I saw that the sealing surface was 3/16" larger in diameter, than the filter itself!
@FORD BOSS ME did a video, explaining why the 10,000 mile OCI isn't a good idea. He pulled some oil from a 2.0 EB engine and was commenting on the fuel smell. I was planning on doing mine at 1,000 and was curious to see what it was like and I found out. It's caused by the turbo boost and the...
I managed to hit 1,000 miles today and decided to do my first oil change.
After watching Blake's FX4 oil change video, I was curious to see how I could pull the filter without spilling oil on top of the rear skid plate. You can't. Even if the truck were level and on a lift, the oil would...
Seen this happen too many times.. May be months down the road. They could claim injury, PTSD, or anything they want. Never underestimate people's greed.
As much as I like my Maverick, I would be livid if someone damaged it. Mostly because I now know how long they take to be replaced!
This guy also does repair videos and explains things in plain english. This is a 6.7 diesel, but he very clearly explains why it's a bad idea to pre-fill the oil filter. Skip to 11:49 for his explanation..
There's a pretty smart guy around here, that explains how to prime your filter *After* you install it on the vehicle.
Kudos to you @FORD BOSS ME ! I learned something today..
That's one of the features I like about these. They have built-in wifi that you connect your phone to. You can change some settings, see live views and pull video. Had a Fedex truck sideswipe a parked vehicle in front of me two years ago. I was able to pull the video to my phone and share it to...
I'm not one for doing videos, but I try to document installs whenever possible. I bought the Rexing V1P-4K dashcam while my Maverick was still on order, so I'd have it when the pickup got here. I wasn't planning on it taking two weeks to get it installed. Before this install, I had the V1P from...
Just fueled up, after running through most of the tank of 87 Octane ethanol-free. 428.7 miles on this tank and the lie-o-meter(As my late wife used to put it) says 28.9MPG. Fuelly gave me a different number though.. Still impressive for 70/30 city/highway driving.. Definitely less BTU's in the...
FYI... Getting ready to install a new dash cam in my Maverick and the kit only came with one Micro2 tap. For anyone stumbling onto this thread, the small fuses under the passenger side dash are Micro2. The larger 3-bladed ones are Micro3.
When I do my install, I will take pics and do my own...
I've had some luck with my F-350, when it doesn't keep disconnecting from the vehicle on it's own.. As soon as I get some time, I'll see what I come up with.
