I've had my can installed for months and "empty" it every 3,000 miles. That being said, I haven't gotten more than one ounce of liquid out of it in total. Am I missing something?
Sorry for not updating everyone.. I thought that I had!
What I found, was that the hose connection to the valve cover wasn't nearly tight enough. I ended up getting blowby residue immediately behind that connection. My solution was to use a zip-tie tool and put two zip-ties on the connection...
Ethanol alone has: 76,330 Btu/gallon
Pure gas has: 120,286 Btu/gallon
The pure gas has a lot more energy in it, than ethanol. Ethanol reduces the amount of energy available and that means more fuel per mile.
I did a bit of searching and found that some people are using the FL-400S, instead of the FL-910S.
Pros:
1) Larger size/capacity
2) 80% efficiency @ 20 microns, compared to 50% @ 35 microns.
3) Same gasket ID and OD sizes.
Cons:
1) 20PSI pressure relief valve, compared to 14.5PSI
I'm not sure...
Since the connections usually break, the catch can instructions advise to slit the OEM hose and just remove it from the connectors. I used my cable tie tool and put two zip ties on the hose. I also cleaned the oily residue off, so I can check it tomorrow. I'll report back.
I just went out and drained the can.. Not much in it, considering the last time it was drained, was ~2,000 miles ago. What I did find, was oil on the pipe, that's directly behind the valve cover connection for the catch can hose. It wasn't like that when I posted the original question.

My 2.0 has started getting the odor of crankcase gasses in the cab and it's driving me crazy, trying to figure it out. The only modification I've made, is the addition of a catch can. Before you rush to judgement... All the connections for the catch can are tight and I cannot see/smell it...
