Same circumstances for me. I ordered the Maverick until I can get my reserved (8/29/20) Bronco Wildtrak with a body colored hard top which now won't be available until 2023.
I think Ford doesn't have much, if any, control over what dealers can ask for a vehicle. MSRP is only a suggestion as to what the dealer should charge. Some dealers are easier to deal with then others and It pays to shop around for the best price you can get.

My dealership has a specific person that handles ALL the Bronco and Maverick orders and has gone to various training seminars and events offered by Ford.
