So this is the underbody of the Ford Bronco Sport
most new cars these days have this stupid under body foam board under the engine bay. Ugly, it shreds and gets so nasty.
I want someone to make a plastic/ carbon fiber replacement for it.
If not I’ll get a 4x6 1/16th steel plate and cut it. $120...
I wish all cars had what my Honda Civic has. A light at the top of the dash that fade from white to green based on how green your driving is.
I thought I always did good until you see the lights white even when your accelerating way slower than traffic.
You really have to baby the throttle to...
as long as you get the proper load. How stuff the springs and struts are. That makes a far greater difference than suspension travel.
just Typically lowering springs have fewer coils. Thus TYPICALLY less strength.
as long as the springs are rated for the same weight as OEM. You will be fine...
That is correct. The hybrid fords don’t have an alternator. The AC compressor is ran off electricity not a belt. Power steering is full electric. which electric components last longer because they are regulated much better with a constant voltage vs variable RPM
I’ve talked to several Prius...
Based on my calculations. OUT THE DOOR. Tax (7.5%) title license delivery etc. with every option excluding accessories (other Than bed cover) is $41,388. So yes it will be VERY hard to crack $40,000 for ANY maverick.
FWD Maverick has a 8.3” ground clearance.
AWD had a 8.6” clearance.
large Sedans (Taurus, Charger, Impala) have a 5+“ clearance. So yes. 2.5” lowering kit would be IDEAL!
make it more street truck friendly. I want the same thing. 2” -3” lower. Like the Old GMC Syclone. Street sport truck. Tired of all these over sided Carolina squat tires past the fenders ugly monsters running around.
so After Tax (7.5%) Title loan (5year 4%) fuel costs ($10,000) 5 year cost of ownership is
$55,733 Ford
$59,345 Hyundai
Or $3,612 or 6.5% MORE. And that’s with out any know options for the Hyundai.
Ford Maverick 2.0T AWD, Lariat, Lux, Fx4, Towing, Hard cover, Sunroof, excluding First Edition (painted prices) and Dealer accessories. $38,315
Hyundai Santa Cruz Limited AWD is ~$41,355 STARTING. that’s a massive difference. Not “both $40k” at all.
Neither truck has a trailer brake from factory. Dealer aftermarket im sure. XLT Maverick 2.0 AWD max tow is about the same price as the AWD SE SC. Yet you get A LOT more for your money with the Maverick.
Not really all that honest. When they say both trucks are over 40k maxed out. And the timeline for when they are available is wrong. “Fall” sure September is fall.
To put things into more of a real world terms.
base price for each. MSRP after, destination, tax (7.5%) and title, loan (5 year 4%APR) and Fuel cost.
the difference between the Maverick and the Santa Cruz is nearly $10,000 different “Cost of ownership after 5 years”
the problem with the Ridgeline is it’s $40,000 the price of a decently equipped Fseries or a LOADED Ranger.
Even the original 1st gen was nearly $30k in 2006. Or the same price as a 4.6L v8 F150.
the market is much more open for a mid $20s Maverick
