That was the reason back in the 70s. Not to undercut dealers and fight the import boom.
But now, very small number of people would. And now their excuse is for public safety and emissions regulations.
I dont think its a bad thing if your in that big of a pinch. Id try calling around to dealers to see if you can get a better allocation spot. But lariat hybrid is like the bottom of the list when it comes to building allotment.
looking around used HSC are selling for about MSRP even with 5,000+...
Ridgeline STARTS at $37,700
Honda hybrids cost about $2,500 more than their gas versions.
so i would guess Hybrid Ridgeline will be
$39,995
also the next generation ford ranger is coming this summer. With a rumored 2.3 power boost. I bet that will be cheaper too.
I think this whole situation would be better if
1 there wasnt any parts shortages.
2 there was a tracker on fords website. Each dealers allocation and how many orders they have.
from what we can find. Dealer allocation has 3 factors.
50% of the factor is over all sales. How many new cars you sell. Last 3 years
25% bronco sport sales
25% bronco reservations.
is how the bronco is calculated. Maverick is likely similar.
so you COULD guestimate.
1.9m fords sold in usa...
few things to consider
1 80,000 units sounds right. There averaging 6k units a month. So thats 72k.
2 at a 70% reservation to order rate. The last article i saw was there were roughly 120,000 reservations. So likely 84,000 orders.
3 Ford has already built 26k mavericks.
So if your saying...
The bronco has been dealing with the same thing. We at Bronco6g deciphered it all. Including taking with dealers.
it definitely is troubling.
but dealers took lots of orders to get more sales. Thankfully some are telling their reservation holders if they are getting bumped to MY2023. But...
