  1. Any chance of a Maverick ST with manual transmission?

agreed. But I love using paddle shifters or buttons on the shifter. Just more control. what I hate is fake gears on CVTS. Had it on my Dodge Caliber like why.
  2. Any chance of a Maverick ST with manual transmission?

I would say 0 chance what so ever. simply because of the market. Most buyers are buying an automatic no matter the platform. asside from enthusiasts cars (Mustang and Bronco) vs utility/ daily cars (maverick). No one is putting in a manual. and the biggest reason is RnD cost and EPA. Epa...
  3. 2022 Ford Maverick Team Not Ruling Out ST, Off-Road Oriented Models

Sounds like it’s all going to be based on the success of the Maverick. If they sell 100k+ unites in the first year and don’t see a drop off. I imagine they will have a tremor and ST package.
  4. Payload for Maverick Lariat Hybrid = 1,519 LBS (per doorjamb sticker). Beats factory quoted 1,500 LBS & Santa Cruz

We all know Hyundai can only hold 661lbs in the bed. But for a while Hyundai and others were claiming “total payload over 1700lbs!” well door stickers are the end all be all. https://jalopnik.com/what-is-the-real-payload-of-the-2022-hyundai-santa-cruz-1847519398 According to the Hyundai owners...
  5. Hyundai Santa Cruz Update

THEY PULLED THAT FROM THE SITE. Unless you download the owners manual, you cannot find payload anywhere on their site
  6. Combined torque that Maverick hybrid will produce?

here’s what it looks like VS RPM. You see the electric motor doesn’t help THAT much
  7. Combined torque that Maverick hybrid will produce?

The 2.5 hybrid uses a CVT. The output is hard to calculate. But assuming the CVT is “perfect” The HP will remain flat at “peak” hp. And the torque slowly diminishes. The gas motor still provides 70% + of total output. The Electric motor only increases the curve at lower speeds.
  8. Combined torque that Maverick hybrid will produce?

a little messy. But the Escape has 200lbft combine. (That’s what this graph is based off of) this is wheel torque and HP based off of wheel speed NOT rpm. To give you a better idea of what’s going on also vs Hyundai Santa Cruz think of these lines as potential maxes. You can have less at a...
  9. Hyundai Santa Cruz Update

So some people are getting their Hyundai’s now and they STILL have yet to post any options or pricing. They actually REMOVED information from their website. What an absolute JOKE!
  10. Catalytic Converter Location on Maverick?

Also I retract my statement. The ecoboost cat is RIGHT after the turbo. It 90s off the back of the turbo then cat. So it’s up there far enough they won’t be able to cut that side. So either motor your good
  11. Ohio Roll Call

The 419 Toledo here. Holding out. Will be picking one up in a year or 2. I never buy new. Maybe when I retire. but I always buy the 2 year old, returned leased cars. Typically get 20-30% off new prices. With a warranty. And maintenance. And still look like a new car. Hoping for a Mid level XLT...
  12. Chip Shortage likely to blame for missing options

oh I agree. Cut down on RnD cost to keep base prices lower. Also add in Covid closing Michigan for 18 months shortened their timeline. but I see in a year or so, once the Chip shortage is over, when Covid is over, and when ford makes their money back and then some. You will see a lot nicer...
  13. Chip Shortage likely to blame for missing options

I was just thinking about a few options that the Maverick is missing, and thought it’s likely because of the Chip shortage. AWD hybrid, Larger Touchscreen with Sync 4, Cooled front seats, Ford My Key. Advanced Ford360 on more trims. Those are some high demand items that Ford didn’t include...
  14. Catalytic Converter Location on Maverick?

Because you can take the rare metals out and scrap them for $200. Most places here in Ohio stopped taking them unless your a certified tech. the turbo model cat is low hanging fruit
  15. Maverick 2.0L EcoBoost Engine Sound Clip

I would guess yes for full production. this is the bronco sport2.0 Same for the escape
  16. Rear legroom in Maverick for big & tall people / passengers - 6'4" tested

My co worker has a Bronco Sport. Nearly identical inside. He’s 6’3” 300# and fit fine. He says it’s better than his old focus. and he’s got a 5pt booster seat in the back. In terms of combine leg room your really can’t beat it unless you go midsized or bigger crossover (Ford Edge+) even then...
  17. Trying to decide: XLT vs Lariat Maverick

The main difference. No Dual HVAC. Power rear glass LED DRL Rear USB Push button start On the XLT LUX OR No heated wheel BLIS Lane keep. 400w outlet On base Lariat so just pick what options mean more to you
  18. New Lawsuit Targets Ford EcoBoost Four-Cylinder Coolant Leaks

Sounds like sleazy lawyers going after sleazy dealers. more of a bad dealer issue vs Ford issue.
  19. Maverick 2.0L EcoBoost Engine Sound Clip

Yes. That’s the injectors. Its crazy how quiet new cars are at idle. My co worker has a 1.5 ecoboost and all you hear is valves and injectors unless your behind it.
  20. New Lawsuit Targets Ford EcoBoost Four-Cylinder Coolant Leaks

There was some overlap between the first and second generation ecoboost. They didn’t change over every vehicle in 2015. But there are some isolated issues. it sounds like lawyers are making it a bigger deal than what it actually is.
