So, I just read the whole thread, and am still confused. Is the motor toast or is it running? If compression is good across all cylinders, you don't have anything stuck in a valve, because you wouldn't have good compression on that cylinder.

From what I have seen, the engines don't use intake vacuum for the brake booster, they use a vacuum pump on the intake cam(I think). So no version should have a line to the intake from the brake booster.
Did you end up wrapping the intake tube about the turbo?
Nope, not on a factory maverick. Mine I had to move my fuel line, because I run a 3/8" rubber line that takes a different routing.
Edit: you do have to remove two plastic panels that are in place of where the brace mounts.
Adding a couple pics from the MaverickFest from Saturday. It was a blast, and I made a seperate post about it.
The Strut Brace fits good and it does make the front seem a little more solid. Probably works great in conjuction with being lowered and upgraded sway bars....
Massive speed systems will have the strut brace up on their site at some point. I messaged them but haven't heard back.
The escort was probably my favorite vehicle there!
Just the turbo. I don't see much of a point in swapping engines. Both are fuel limited, and having more torque lower in the rpm band isn't doing the trans any favors, lol.
Absolutely! Most people that are building parts for our platform do now have Mav's, although I remember reaching out to some companies early on, and even had one tell me he wouldn't be doing tunes or products for the Mav because it would never be a "performance" platform. And now he is working...
They did give me a little cash, but I look at it as a complete bonus because they didn't have to! The guys from Massive are the ones who did the payout, and they were really cool people! Both the owner, and one of the employees both have Mavericks, and both look way better than mine, hahaha
Lol, sadly no, I was letting the Mav settle on it's brake boosting. This wasn't a sportsman tree, we just both sucked, lol. Normally I cut under .050 on this style light.
Hey guys, I spent my Saturday at Cordova Dragway here in northwestern Illinois. It was a great time, and I'm hoping we have a ton more Maverick's there next year!
I think I counted 6 Maverick's at the event, but sadly only two did the drag racing! I posted a 12.67@110mph, for the quickest...
It was under acceleration to start, from like 20-60, then grew to 70ish, and started to get more violent. Then it would be there slightly at cruise speeds, but would randomly come in and out.
Generally with the Hondas the chamber is smaller on the smaller engines, so going with the smaller displacement head bumps up compression. I also think the B16 head flows crazy good compared to a factory B20 or B18 you would find on your standard CRV or Integra.
In our case, the 2.0 and 2.3L...
