Black Painted Roof Delete

I have a ‘25 Lariat Hybrid (space white metallic) that is scheduled for build the week of 12/16. I just noticed the ‘exterior’ tab online says ‘black painted roof delete’. At first thought, I really like the free upgrade, especially given the truck’s color. Should I think differently… and can I remove it if I don’t want it?

If I'm not mistaken, I think what it's referring to is it means you will not get the it, black roof delete means you did not opt to have it.

Investigated this a while back. This "option" isn't actually an option. It's only "IF" there are crazy constraints, which there won't be. Confirmed with Tim @ Macarthur, and my dealer in Canada.

My space white Lariat is being built now. I haven't seen my window sticker yet, but as far as I know, the black roof is part of the Black Appearance Package but can be deleted if wanted, possibly. I didn't want the black appearance package, but even if I did, I think the black roof would look a little silly on a white truck. And probably on most of the other colors too. That's just me though.

If you ordered the black appearance package and you want the black roof, you might want to chat with someone about the delete. If you didn't order the package, the delete is probably just the way they note that in the paperwork. That's my guess anyway.

Black roof is only for black appearance package.

I looked into this extensively. Here is my email directly from a product specialist from Ford.

“It is all or nothing with the Black Appearance Package; the Black Appearance Package includes the black painted roof, and that cannot be removed."

This "option" box was just added, just in case their were constraints. I believe Tim said something about Bronco Sport had this option a few years because they ended up having a constraint with their black roofs. So to get the Bronco sports out, they allowed people to delete it. It's not a option you can actually get. (At this point at least, could change I guess.)

Mine has shipped, probably arriving around the same time as yours. Mine has the delete listed as well. I assume that's normal, since I didn't order the black appearance package.

However, it also lists Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, which I don't think is actually even a possibility. I'll find out fairly soon, hopefully.

I am guessing every Lariat without the BAP says the same thing, Mine is Desert Sand and shows black painted roof delete. As noted its not a stand alone option.

My 2022 Lariat came standard with a black painted roof in rapid red. At five foot six I do not even notice it.

Yep, I had a Area 51 '22 First Edition and had the black painted roof. At 6' I barely noticed it, the way the roofline is on the Mav painting the roof is rather pointless. You notice it more on the Bronco Sport because of how the roof curves down.

Hi folks. I'm a new member with a 2025 Lariat with the BAP package on order. Thanks for all the useful info in this thread. I came across a listing at a dealer that has a white Lariat with the BAP, without the black roof. I didn't know it was possible so I thought I would share.

do you guys get money back? like -500 credit etc? because roof painted, saves them money, and part of the package, id imagine you should get some money back for partial package.

now, this may be unpopular, but I think the body colored roof looks better, and it also traps less heat.
